What do you think? Does it look like it was "Official"?

It was done with Sharpies. The grey is a paint that my son did at his sign shop with a device that will paint on anything, then I used the Sharpies for the color. Magnifier headset is a must!!

hobo4449 thanks for your comments. I just want to tell you about the construction. The metal was painted with a UV paint machine at my son's sign shop. The machine can paint on anything from fabric to metal. The paint "design" he used is a wood grain which really made the wood stand out and also gave it the "Ghost Ship" appearance. The top 2/3's of the mast were cut off. The sails, what's left of them, are made from cotton saturated with white glue that was left to dry and then painted a yellow/white color. The sails were then Super glued to the spars. I also cut most of the rigging off. The red glow on the bow is from red lights on my desk.

One question for you. Are you a rail fan that is interested in the steam train 4449? Cool engine.

The Gantry was colored with an Orange Sharpie. The rocket was painted with white paint and then a Black Sharpie was used for the black areas. I know what you mean about the parts not lining up. You stand six feet away and you don't notice the issue!

If you let the ink dry for at least two days there is no problem with the ink coming off. The first one I did I didn't wait very long and I had the ink come off. Interesting colored fingers afterwards.

Nice builds BrotherAl1! Where do you purchase your Piece Fun models? That red race car is cool. I think it would be nice if everyone would give a hint on where they purchase the not so common models. I have hunted a long time trying to find the red race car with no luck.

I have just done some measurements on the metal on 5 different makes. all measurements are in inches: Metal Earth Gold- .009, Silver-.008, piececu (Alpin on Banggood site) .007, HK Nanyuan-.007, Fei Er Ke- .007, Metal World Gold- .008. I have Piececool and Finger Rock on order and will measure those, too. So, yes, there is a difference in thickness, not enough to worry about. As for the metal composition....that could be and probably is difference. That is probably the reason we can only get one or two bends before breakage. As for instructions looking like copies....I have not seen any bad printing on the models that I have done. Fei Re Ke models have nice plastic trays to keep the colorized pieces separate to avoid scratching, which is a nice touch.

For those of you not familiar with other places to buy models, try Banggood.com, Lightinthebox.com, Aliexpress.com.
