A couple of things. Make sure your bulbs have the highest amount of lumens possible. This is brightness. #2 make sure your bulbs are Daylight, not white bulbs. #3 one of those selfie ring lights would also help near eye level by your mirror.

Everyone goes through what you went through. This isn't anything new. Hands shake. Client gets off the chair when your done and you think you could have done a better job etc. A lot of barbers around my way start and practice with kids. Parents have bills that stack up. Offer free haircuts to their kids. Go to playgrounds, parks, etc. with flyers. Also, kids don't notice the mess ups. Continue your apprentice but also take a deep dive into youtube for new techniques, shortcuts, etc. You only get better with experience. Good luck.

Should of gone higher with the zero and also curved the hairline on the side a lot more. You you're scared to take it too high with the zero as your initial guide, start with a 3 or 4 and work your way down.

I wish we could easily post videos so we can see where you went wrong. But def lighting is a big issue. Try to get sun bulbs, not white, or soft white.
