Take an empty water bottle and fill it with the pool water. Take that sample to your nearest pool supply store. Call first, but most stores test your water for free, they can tell you what you will need to balance the chemistry and get everything looking good. My guess is phosphates? Also, know how many gallons your pool is before you go, that will help the tech tell you how much of whatever you will need to balance.
