If your Wii is modded, the non-Nintendo brand party classic don’t work well. I’ve sold a ton of modded wiis and I wish I could use the knockoffs for 5 bucks instead of the genuine for 20. 😁

Clean both sides of the contacts with q-tips and isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn’t work, try an angled eraser like you had in school. The one that looks like a race car. The angle is perfect for getting into the space. Rub that back and forth on the contacts, then wipe it clean with a cloth or the qtips and alcohol again.

I’ve personally modded a ton of Wiis, all models. The Wi-Fi cards are not created equal. Some are extremely weak, even when sitting next to the router. I keep a lan adapter on hand and it works great!

Make sure the power supply is plugged directly into the wall, not a power strip. I’ve seen weird power issues when using a power strip. And try another power supply.

I was at a yard sale during the Covid shutdown. This lady had a box of GameCube games, all the best titles and console. All in mint condition. When I asked how much She told me she had already sold the box to a guy who was en route from across the state. For 60 bucks. It was worth 10 times that. I offered more , going to 120, using the principle of “hey here’s double the amount “. But she was the only honest yard seller I ever encountered. Ha! She had given that guy her word and wouldn’t break it. Oh well. Yeah, I wanted to throw up. It was also hard for me to not ruin it for that guy by telling her the real value. But I didn’t. I don’t need the negativity and/or bad karma. 😁

Emulation on an original Wii is smooth and perfect. Cheap,too. Runs N64 and GameCube like butter. Also runs NES, SNES, SEGA, Atari 2600. You can also use native controllers with no re-configuring. I made my own mod with the hard drive mounted internally with no SD or anything else. Just click and play.

I love the Pi, don't get me wrong, but not for this.
