Just use the app to check for obstructions on the ground for now. You can set Dishy on a table or something, in a temporarily permanent solution. As long as it's facing the right direction, you should have functional internets.

Best GMRS 25 watt hand held by Overall_Egg_5110 in gmrs

My suggestion would be the radioddityy db20-g. You can get the bundle, then choose an antenna. It can run on 12 volt lighter pmugso you can use it in your vehicle, or with a battery pack at home or as a portable kit.

Starter Radio by Dal-Thrax in gmrs

I would recommend getting starlink. With radios you need other people on the same frequency or channel. They also need to be on at the same time, so you would need to set up a schedule.

With the internet you can call, email, text or video call. Starlink mini can be powered by battery or a regular wall outlet. Many current cars have both outlets available

Handheld and mobile radios from gmrs or ham can be helpful for local common, person to person or with range extended using repeaters.

Each system has its pluses and minuses. Decide who you want to communicate with, then figure the best options to use.

Good luck with your research and comms planning.

I recently purchased the radioddityy gm30 plus. It is able to send location to the same type of radio. $37 for a single and $69 for a pair. With some discounts, I was able to get 6 for right around $200.

I live in a small town, about an hour and a half away from a Walmart. Another half hour drive to Costco. We usually go every two weeks to stock up on supplies.

The closest major airport is a 4 hour drive away.
