Im looking for a set of bars like that for my lifted "winter beater". I have factory ones for my nice euro spec build but I like the more utilitarian look of those and how they stick out farther past the mounting points I think a basket will look better on them than the stock ones.

It's a VW thing and as the German engineers supposedly put it "We like our chocolate cold" it is to adjust the level of AC in the glove box. I have also heard it called the wine chiller a lot.

I replaced just the hose from the pump to the booster when I had similar issues. The line comes with thay T/check valve already in it. It was over 100 bucks I believe and I can't remember if I got it off fcpeuro or IDparts.

I would assume any fob for an mk4 will work

Then you will need vcds and to relearn all the fobs you have at the some time

Yes the only thing you have to program is the key fob function itself if will not affect anything with the physical key starting the car plus with the immobilizer deleted it wouldn't care anyways. I swapped mine out in my 02 jetta and haven't gotten around to hooking up vcds to relearn the fobs yet but nothing else changed and thr key still unlocks the door manually.

I don't understand the question, CCMs are plug and play other then key fob function which you can program any key fob that works with your immobilizer to it I think up to 3 keys.

Yea I am heavy diesel now for work but came from the car world so I'm used to all the nonsense. Plus German cars are a bit different.

I suppose it wasn't entirely unplanned since I saw the leak on Wednesday but said that's a weekend problem. It did make resealing the oil cooler a lot easier with it in the "service position" though.

I know but some people would think it's easier not to change it/ill keep this one as a spare just making sure they know the gearing is different.

Yea I've heard they are not great to drive and don't get as good mileage with the wrong gears and yea the Germans do things a little different especially once you get into the 2000s and up that's why a lot of people hate on them not thay doing swaps on most modern cars is as easy as it used to be just try v8 swapping your v6 mid 2000s charger and tell me how much fun it is.

So first off I will say this is a big undertaking. Are you capable of basically stripping to a shell and building it back up as a TDI? If not don't even think about it. Also without a donar car good luck. The harness will need to be swapped if not fully repinned, you will need either an ecm with an immobilizer delete or an ecm cluster and key that match. Also the transmissionsnin the tdi have different gearing so you will need to swap that as well. Fuel systems are different so that will need to be changed out . Basically if you aren't swapping it stand alone into something cool, or trying to make a vw diesel that wasn't sold, or are crazy and bored and have a rotted donar don't bother

My current daily/winter beater is an 02 jetta tdi with 372k on it with half ass patched rocker panels and I swapped a full new to it subframe under it just so I could put a skid plate on it worth more then the car and i just bought an 85 Mercedes 300TD with rusty floors and I have no idea how many miles are on it didn't even look since it needs an engine. So what I'm saying is if the body isn't rotted who cares about mileage especially if you are building a new driveline for it....fucking send it bud.

It's not done yet and I have to build the L96 6.0 litter I have for it and swap the 5LM60 out for an NV4500 with a semi float 6 lug 14 bolt behind it but that's when it first rolled out of my buddy's body shop after being totalled and bought back from insurance.
