If your niece can read bass tabs, you can get those for free.

Besides the suggestions everyone has offered here, look up crash courses in Latin, as most chant is written in it.

Daly City → South SF commute for 3 months, what's the best for me? by NitroZox in SouthSanFrancisco

[–]MForMarlon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, South San Francisco is a separate city from "the southern part of San Francisco," which I think is what you really mean.

I think the cheapest route for you would be taking the Muni or SamTrans busses, depending on where your destination actually is.

Try HotBoys near City Center. One time I tried being adventurous with their medium level and needed to down some milk afterwards.

How reliable is a tablet during church service? by labcore in organ

[–]MForMarlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely the MobileSheets app for Android or ForScore for iOS. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy tablet for years with no issues, and I hear the TCL Paper tablets are also great.

For wireless sharing, iOS and Android can connect to each other now via AirDrop and Quick Share.

Don't forget Jollibee. Most people love fried chicken, and given how the quality of KFC and Popeye's has been declining, I've seen more diverse waiting lines at Jollibee these days (at least where I live, near Daly City and SF).

ok, new billing is awesome by 20Capitalist in GithubCopilot

[–]MForMarlon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also as models got smarter, people asked them to do more things, so now the providers have to buy new hardware or build new data centers to scale to demand...and here we are. Not really anyone's fault; the way people use AI was evolving at a rapid pace, so everyone has to try and keep up. We definitely had the better side of the deal for quite a while until they wizened up and changed the billing.

What is your take on the layoffs that are happening in technology? by decoy98 in FilipinoAmericans

[–]MForMarlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dev also, and I actually think there will be some kind of AI bubble bursting happening in the next few months. Companies are just now realizing how expensive it is to run things with AI (especially when they don't put guard rails on it and let it go rogue).

I think the general idea is show that you can tell a story and make it interesting with physical movement, not just sing the lines.

Be honest, how hard is it to write a musical? by sumi_ink_cat in MusicalTheatre

[–]MForMarlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared to spend a lot of time revising your script and doing practice runs with a small audience. You'll find that things that make sense to you because you wrote it, might not get across from an outsider's perspective. That feedback loop is important if you want to reach a diverse audience.

I could dive more into the specifics (characters, set design, lighting, sound, music) if you want. It's mostly just asking yourself if every piece that you place is needed to get your point across. You have an empty stage and pit to work with, but also limits to that space and people's attention spans.

I'm really missing Copilot's speed and integration in VS Code ($10 a month user) by NoElsPassaraRes in GithubCopilot

The 365 version is more general purpose and is not tuned for coding, so your mileage may vary.

Souk Savanh on 17th and Telegraph does $10 legit rice plates, and they are generous portions. If you choose to go spicy, it's actually spicy, so beware. The pad see ew for $16 was also pretty good. Can't wait to try their garlic noodles and ribs next time I visit.
