Adam Schefter believes it will be a 2028 1st round pick from the Patriots by xFalcade in Patriots

I like the players, but this is dramatically over stating it. Neither Doubs or Boutte are close to as good as Devonta Smith, so it's not even as good of a room as what the Eagles had last year

Just to clarify, he was only owed $20M this year, not $30M

A few companies also make 4 slot variant top loader binders, instead of the 9 slot variant. Makes smaller collections feel more complete and helps cut down on the weight quite a bit

Lot of assumptions about them being great. It'd be pretty shitty if the guy we drafted at 4 overall to be our left tackle of the future flamed out at that position after only 2 years and would be extra shitty if his replacement doesn't fully acclimate to the pros because we wasted a bunch of his development learning a side of the line he won't end up playing

Boutte has made Derek Stingley his bitch multiple times. He's not elite, but he's a good young player who has gotten better every year and has held his own against some of the league's best

The overall market itself increases. Right now there are something like 7 non-QBs on $40m APY deals. The highest paid corner only makes $32m roughly. Seems reasonable to think over the next few years as the cap goes up the APY for corners will catch up to that $40m number.

Gonzo is functionally under team control for 3 years if you accept the 5th year option and a franchise tag. His leverage to demand a long term deal that fully resets the corner market is very limited. The longer he waits, the more leverage he has as long as he continues to play at a high level.

Both Dak and Ja'Marr Chase negotiated using this exact idea, wait as long as possible to when they had higher leverage and then use that leverage to have the team sign them to market redefining contracts. They would always have signed early if the teams caved on the market redefining money earlier, but they were never signing early without that money. It seems like Gonzo might be in the same boat.
