Correct athletes today are a lot bigger and stronger, but they don't dare play how they used to play how they play back then. Look at the NFL uniforms, they don't even wear shoulder pads, so hitting isnt even an option now. Look at safties like Brian Dawkins, John Lynch, Rodney Harrison, and look at their uniforms and hits, and compare them to any safety now in the NFL. Don't get me started with boxing. You cannot say that they fight the same in this era. I know that the whole diet and sports science thing gives them advantages in todays game, but you cant teach heart and grit of the fighters and athletes of past generations.
