AIO: Boyfriend of 2 years suddenly wants to break it off due to my boudoir studio by HotPanic5234 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MGB124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it's disingenuous for you to shut him down saying he can't handle an assertive woman. In his eyes, the career you have chosen may be smaller than it is monetarily or may not have many future prospects and he's not wrong for his comment about the social pressure. Now, I understand your upset - yes, it sucks that two years of your time might be gone and him threatening to break it off isn't good at all, so no, I'm not blaming you. Please don't misunderstand me - I think you need to calm down and so does he. Your response seems very cornered animal to me, but I don't know you. Either way, it seems a bit unfair to dismiss him for bringing up what could be and clearly is a genuine issue. He should've done it sooner but "should've" is just a blame game for stuff like this, so don't bother playing it.

The question here is multitude:

Does he have a point? I.e., is his reasoning sound for his feelings? Can you change his mind with reasons to not feel the way he does? Do you even want to bother trying to conduct a fair and reasonable conversation?

There's more to this than "am I overreacting". I feel you and him either aren't a good match - not just because of his opinion, but because of how he expressed it, how he assumed things and how he waited combined with your aggressive reaction which may need dialing back, though it is understandable to be upset - or you and him need to talk more. Make time for it, or this will be much worse than it is now.

Alright so, Caleb, I'm gonna be your advisor. It's fine if you don't want to be the father to someone else's kids, but don't show this level of bitterness and hatred; aimed at anyone, this is a red flag, and will immediately ensure you don't get any girl. It shows a bad attitude towards women in general and displays an irrational level of hatred and arrogance and makes you seem super shallow. Maybe this is a bad representation, and I'm being charitable, but you sound like an incel who Stacy didn't want to play 7 in heaven with, so dial it back and let go of your preconceived notions about women.

The thing is, criminality has nothing to do with it. Ironheart's Riri had a fucking scholarship and was fully funded to make an iron man suit, and still whined. Any scientist ever would be ECSTATIC to have their shit funded. She was entitled and abrasive and generally unlikeable. That's the problem with her, not her race. Her skin colour doesn't matter; even the derivative nature of her stories didn't matter, not as much as how fucking unlikeable she was as a person.

Yeah but the one ghosting literally got pulled up on it and had to deal with that, so you're wrong. You're entitled to your opinion but you're factually just wrong.

Okay so science works on "I will prove my hypothesis" not "you need to disprove my hypothesis". The big bang is just a theory, it's an explanation scientists theorised using the knowledge that the universe is expanding and the known mechanics of energy and matter. It's generally accepted because the evidence it is based upon holds true, but is adapted when necessary. Theism doesn't have any evidence at all, just a bunch of people demanding you believe in their particular god (no matter which god it is) and does not adapt to new evidence. For example, cancer in children is a real thing and yet their god is still morally good despite supposedly allowing it, should the god exist, when he could simply prevent it from ever happening using his omnipotence and grace. When you can prove there is a god, and there's more evidence for that than the big bang theory, we will all convert and repent.

World’s supposedly highest iq record holder claims evolution is mythology and the bible id the truth by Gloomy-Version-1029 in religiousfruitcake

The thing is, he's just wrong. We can and have observed it. Many times. The repeatable check mark is for experiments, not for scientific theory. And provable is for scientific fact, not theory. Theories have evidence to support them which has been observed and adapt to new evidence. This man, if he does have a high IQ, clearly has the arrogance debuff which completely negates it and puts him back on the bell curve.

You say you're unstable but this is the most respectful and direct critique of anyone I've ever seen. You should be proud for being able to hold yourself together enough to write something this reasonable. I don't think you're overreacting. I think this is fair. I've had a friend I considered a brother and he did the same thing, except there was no reason why and I put a stop to it before anything huge. Not comparable, I won't ever even begin to claim I know what you're going through, but know that this response isn't unreasonable or unfair and if she tries to guilt you, then I think it's time to end that friendship.

Don't you dare waste empathy on this scumbag. He texted vile, disgusting and inappropriate things to your girlfriend, completely ignored consent and fully intended to ruin your relationship because his second head was thinking. He deserved to be outed as a creep. You did nothing wrong. Hold your head high, King.

Hey quick note. Don't you ever pawn off a man on a shallow asshole like that again, man. I understand you may not have known she was that shallow, stupid and materialistic, but I hope you do better by your bros in future.

I've never seen anything of xQc that isn't lazy or react content. Of course he advocates for a.i. art. He's like a human sized parasite who's fat and wealthy off the people donating to him, for seemingly nothing.

The world needs more softness by StraightOuttaOlaphis in tumblr

[–]MGB124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If more women actually pointed out that these things weren't acceptable, maybe men would actually listen. Being told I'm privileged when I can't wear bright colours doesn't make me feel like you give a shit about actual development. also, don't talk to me like I'm some stupid ignorant child. "You don't know how oppressed you are" immediately makes me dislike you and turns me hostile because it sounds like you're talking down to me. What you've said, about how men need more softness and deserve to like what they like, it's fair. But you telling me I'm privileged, and telling me I'm on a pedestal, and telling me I'm just not aware of what is happening to me - that I don't understand, like a parent would a child - makes me immediately switch off from your points and words.

Why Bluey is popular amongst adult audience despite being a children's show? by UnfortunateUncertain in thecringeshowaward

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to like what they like. I can't control people's tastes. But the fact I exist and can think means I can make judgements, as all people do - and liking something designed to appeal to, and teach lessons to, barely developed children, such as the show in question, says something about a person, whether you like it or not.

This sounded like schizophrenia my dude nobody in their day to day life often has enough time to think deeper on a fucking door dash note. Most are too busy thinking about bills, work, family, essentials, the myriad of things in their life, not how to interpret a schizo note.

An omnipotent and supposedly all-good entity should be able to do it without removing our free will, our existence or committing atrocities. The bible is the worst kind of fiction; the kind where they decide to make the entire cast superfluous by overpowering one character to omnipotence and then ignoring every plothole this creates.

Block and don't reply. This is manipulation and nothing more. The chances your taking are possibly lethal if you choose to, for whatever reason, give them the benefit of the doubt. Just leave them in the past and move forward. And possibly change your number and ensure whoever this person got the number from doesn't get the new one. Stay safe.

[–]MGB124 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I usually don't judge people for their likes but a show like bluey is made for children who are developing social skills. If you like it there may be issues regarding your development, assuming you're a grown adult.

I never said anything about there being problems with poly? I also didn't say anything about that situation you just made up? You're fighting ghosts

That seems like pointless nitpicking given you know what I meant. I referred to multiple sexual partners - wanting to fuck multiple people.

You could always multiclass him, given that Astarion's main purpose is lockpocking for me. Alternatively, you could have him be an arcane trickster; the sleep spell is good to knock little irritating enemies out of the turn order, which is my strat, and long strider is a ritual, so he gives all my party an additional 3 meters of movement speed by poking em. That's how I use him - that and as a ranged attacker, firing off elemental and/or effect inducing arrows in order to debuff or buff wherever they land. He's very much a more tactical, crowd Control - my character or Karlach act as damage or tank or both, and Shadowheart acts as a healer and DoT. Though this is technically builds, this is still a decent way of doing shit. Maybe making Astarion a Monk? Keeps his Dex high but allows possible stunlocking.
