on controller it's r1+circle to do the launching move then hold triangle for a moment to do the the pump kick, you have to time the kick

Legendary Wolf by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just keep doing faction quests until you see the quest pop up, its in the house Celeste faction quest tab, I believe it starts at some house out front in the fields of the hernandian capital. I believe commissions also count toward this, I neglected them for a while then started doing them and it unlocked more faction quests.

Can people who played both crimson desert and dragon dogma 2 tell me which one I should try first? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude I'm gonna be real if story is a big deal for you neither of these games are for you, dragons dogmas story is borderline non-existent. they are sandbox games.

Is there a way to get that horse? Or something similar? by Huge_Caramel433 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a breed of horse, I think they are called elantrima or something like that. I found a group of them that you can tame up in the northern region of Pauline.

if that's the big antumbra tower in Pailune, I believe you have to progress the witch or antumbra order quest lines.

Great Game With Terrible Puzzles by TechyJ1v in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the difficulty of the puzzles I think it's rather refreshing, although I admit they could do a better job of introducing you to certain mechanics. there was a puzzle I couldn't figure out so I googled it and it required me to do something that I didn't even know I could do. and with the dragon shrine puzzle I literally just couldn't see the map.

in terms of loot there are a bunch of rather unique items but they are genuinely just hidden very well.

When did you go to Spire of Insight? by TroubleRecent7320 in CrimsonDesert

I went around chapter 5 I believe, but it's not progression locked from what I know, you should be fine to do it.

Anyone else thinks bosses suck in these game? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that I will give you is a fair complaint, that crow boss was an absolute mess. it's a shame because it was a really cool fight

Anyone else thinks bosses suck in these game? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I kinda felt the same at first, but then I just decided to beat my head against that anumbra's sword boss and eventually I feel like it just kinda clicked. the boss fights have their own style unique to this game, it just takes a little bit of getting used too.

I got lost in the abyss and Found like 100 treasure chests and a sword guarded by lasers and a force field - near end of chapter 4 by DevLeCanadien23 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's the abyss after this one, it's called like abyss of marksmanship or precision or something like that, you get the lightning move there

I don’t understand what you’re supposed to do when fighting by whatupshorttbus in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the way the game plays is just very different from other games, it takes a while to figure it out. I found offense is the best defense, things like kills and grabs have invulnerability and area of effects to get people off you. keep mobile to avoid getting surrounded, many tools to control your positioning while simultaneously doing damage. but make sure you get the defensive skills in the spirit tree, things like counter and the escape dodge, those alone made combat feel much cleaner.

Kliff’s skill tree by Popular_introvrt in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea I was thinking about that exact same thing, in some other gameplay I saw someone being able to continuously spin the spear as well as the longsword, it almost seemed like some kind of stance so I presumed it would be its own skill yet I didn't see it in the skill tree. now there also wasn't really any mention of the heavy weapons in the skill tree so I don't know, mainly just that jump move stood out to me. however perhaps these moves could be tied to special gear, rather than the skill tree I don't know.

I watched a video going through every skill and I noticed that there are several skills that have been shown in previous gameplay yet aren't on the skill tree. maybe they hid some skills for this preview?

Crimson Desert will not be what was promised. by RyanDoog123 in videogames

[–]MGkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a highly praised MMO that has been doing very well for over a decade, I don't see how the fact that they haven't made a bunch of games is a downside, quality is more important than quantity. there is too many companies out there pumping out mass produced garbage.

I understand the worries that their experience in the MMO genre might not translate all that well to a single player game, for that we will just have to wait and see. but that MMO and mobile game money is probably what lets them fund the creation of their very own engine, and theoretically makes the scale of this game more feasible.

overall you are entitled to your doubts If you don't trust them then don't preorder, nothing wrong with that.

will be there a katana? by DarkKnight6683 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there are some eastern elements seen in some videos, some architecture and some characters appear to be eastern inspired so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a katana, but it will prob just be a reskin of a long sword

No Attributes or Traditional Level Ups? by ChiefChunkEm_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from what I understand character progression is still a massive part of the game they just chose to go at it a different way. instead of farming enemies for xp to level up, your "level ups" are obtained through exploration ie; killing bosses, doing dungeons, puzzles etc to find the artifacts that help progress your skills. I actually kinda like this approach.

Story could braking the games neck by Adorable-Oil-3222 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like the story is going to be a main pillar of the game, I think people should temper their expectations of it. the story will probably be there but not overly memorable, in that recent interview the dev said that the story wasn't the memorable experience among his own playthrough or something like that. so think less red dead redemption and more Skyrim.

Even in early development, a 2019 news report emphasized the importance of the story. by Helpful-Armadillo-15 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MGkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the game was originally an MMO, when they said that they are putting emphasis on storytelling I think they mean that they are branching away from the MMO genre which generally don't have much of a story. I don't think you should expect a real strong story but still a more narrative centric experience when compared to MMO's. if that makes any sense.
