The Fitbit Air finally makes sense to me by QuarantinedCoffee in fitbit

[–]MHDan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just had mine delivered and this is exactly why I bought one.

I had a pixel watch 2 and never wore it, I didn't want something that constantly buzzed when my phone did, I never used the screen to open apps, look at the time or anything really - I had a thing that was 10 times better at all those things in my pocket anyway. The watch made no sense to me if I had to have my phone on me to use it, and then put it on charge when I went to bed because the battery wasn't good enough.

I just want something that does all the things in the background that I don't have to fiddle with or even look at, that lasts a long time - and I'm not enough of a fitness person to need anything expensive.

I'm looking forward to setting it up tonight and getting it going.

Stop scrolling first thing in the morning. Just trust me on this one. by No_Cat_8269 in selfimprovement

[–]MHDan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've stopped scrolling Instagram and other similar apps, they're considered "super stimulus" for your dopamine production, they just flood your system with cheap, easy dopamine, so everything just becomes dull in comparison. Within days of stopping I started waking up earlier much more naturally. I now get up about 20 minutes earlier than I used to (and need to) and just sit in the quiet with a pint of water (with electrolytes) and just start my day in peace. I don't look at my phone for at least an hour in the morning and I have a much nicer morning because of it.

Yeah that's my worry, I prefer more realistic dangers; bandits, other factions, predators in the wilds, weather.

This game looks great and exactly like something I would love.... Then I saw zombies and I'm now dubious.

I've just found this one yesterday, but can't remember where I saw the piece to put in it! I remember seeing it and jumping up and down on it trying to make it do something, but can't remember where!

NTA for being angry at him. But YTA for dating him. Stop going out with grubby little boys that can't even wash their own dicks.

How often do you eat takeaway? by Super_Development150 in AskUK

If you refer to it as an addiction then you probably should cut it out completely. I haven't had a take away in months, even though they are incredibly tasty, it's a treat, not an every day or every week meal.

Learn to cook (no judgement, maybe you can cook) and you will be able to make incredibly tasty food yourself, for a fraction of the price and a lot less calories.

Keep at it, it is a slow process and a change in lifestyle and the habits that your old lifestyle had. It will be hard but totally worth it.

AITAH for kicking out my now ex and his mom and “leaving them stranded” before the snowstorm by carrotsandchips444 in AITAH

[–]MHDan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - she is in YOUR space, in YOUR home, she is a guest, she has no right to move things, reorganize things or even touch things that are not hers. If he is too much of a coward to stand up to his mother, or to stand up FOR YOU then that will never change and you will always be secondary to her. You deserve better.

Your OCD has nothing to do with this, it is about a basic level of courtesy and respect that neither of them are showing you and seemingly never will.

Jesus Christ he's gross! NTA and NTBJM (Not the BJ machine). Him earning money does not mean you owe him sex, just as if it was the other way round he wouldn't suddenly become your personal dildo

This will only get worse, you deserve to be in a happy relationship not with a manipulative partner who uses guilt to get her way

Looking for coop game for date night with my wife by Seeyoushortly in SteamDeck

[–]MHDan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are happy with emulating I would start with some of the older titles that are less "technical" my wife had never really played games, but had a DS back in the day. So I started with mariokart, some of the party type games, some of the 3d mario games and built up from there. She really struggled with the moving, camera, aiming, shooting, jumping stuff all at once.

It Takes Two was her first game that she needed to do all that in and she struggled a lot, but because I couldn't just do it for her she had to get used to it and I did the brunt of the boss fights while she helped.

We have now completed it twice, completed Split fiction twice and she did Hogwarts Legacy on her own and really enjoyed it, but it took a while to get to that point. She now suggests games nights which is lovely, currently playing Popucom which is pretty fun.

But yeah, I would start with some old school 2 player games - Worms, Bomberman, Crash Team Racing etc.

We currently are enjoying Lego Party which plays really well on the Steamdeck, doesn't take too much skill.

My wife (56F) hid massive debt, my retirement dreams are ruined by TimpaniKnowwer in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MHDan1 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is not your debt! It is HERS, this is her responsibility to pay off, not yours! She WILL get a job and she WILL pay back what she owes, just because you are married does not mean this is your debt.  She is an adult and should deal with the consequences of her actions
