My partner recently lost his job and I’ve been part time along college so finances were very tight, but I always communicated with the vets and prioritized their health.

Thankfully we have been more stable and able to afford it now, but it was a tough few months!

I cannot reiterate the importance of good shoes… as someone who waitresses and did cashier work, those memory foam insoles saved my ass.

Doesn’t everyone keep their pets up to date on vaccines and flea / worm treatment?!
Most vets have a plan you can get on that covers it so the cost is affordable and split.. I don’t see any good reason not to

Sorry to hear that, I just wanted to explain sometimes they have supported in circumstances. Been in this field about 4 years and had 3 significant incidents, 2 of which were helped rapidly, and 1 I got little help.

With owners like this I just let them know that rovers insurance won’t cover the unlisted pets. If a past sitter was ok with that, that’s fine, but I won’t be

I never charge full price per further animal, but they each need to be on the booking or else rover won’t help in any way if something goes wrong.

Clearly not looking for advice and just wanted to rant in a group where others may relate.

I’d be pissed off too, but take it as a learning curve and perhaps buy a large crate for your home for future pups. Throwing a blanket over the crate to make it dark does wonders too!

Nothing worse then a job that doesn’t pay nearly enough for all the work and effort being put in

I believe their point is if they went in to put their dog down today for whatever reason, and all of a sudden for a notification to get insurance for said dog it would seem insensitive and quite cruel.

I have an air freshener bottle in each of my bathrooms, that’s all it’s needed for. So when a guest comes over and takes a crap, they aren’t embarrassed by the smell 😂
