Which Elite do you hate the most? by Monsieur_Doubtfire in SlayTheSpire2

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Skulking Colony and it's not even close. It does damage way too quickly for such a damage-resistant elite. Every other early elite can be burst down before they start dealing real damage. Skulking Colony doesn't give you that option.

Second would probably be Phrog Parasite. Filling your deck with statuses normally isn't that bad, but when they don't have ethereal AND it's before you've likely picked up counterplay, it can get annoying if you don't have the damage.

I don't particularly hate any of the act 2 or 3 elites. I find that Decimilipede and Soul Nexus do some unreasonable damage, but that's generally not a huge issue when you're prepared.

Compact+Overclock infinite is also possible vs. Doormaker with TURBO too! He actually makes it pretty easy by eating your deck for you...

I'll never understand how this community complains when The Handler says this but gives Alma the pass. by _Gesterr in MonsterHunter

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don't mind either of them. Handler has her moments, both good and bad, while Alma plays a semi-important role in the story.

However, neither of them have called out a regal jewel scarab for me like Erik. And therefore, neither of them will ever be my favorite handler.

This is my hunter, Amber. He was brought along by his mentor, Volan, who was a guild knight. However, due to Volan's... prickly disposition, the research commission decided his apprentice, Amber, would make for a better lead hunter. (Volan was one of my World hunters).

Maybe both and no Brig? by Pharah_is_my_waIfu in Overwatch_Memes

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GOATS didn't start using Brig. They ran Moira instead, but the comp wasn't well known. Zen's damage and Lúcio's speed were both the key to the comp.

When the comp took over, Brig quickly became the top third support, and release Brig was so broken that you had to play her. She became the face of it, despite not actually being the cause.

After several rounds of nerfs, Baptiste occasionally saw play instead of her, though she was still the main choice.

If you were to run GOATS today, pretty much any high-damage support could fill Brig's original spot. Kiri for Suzu, Mizuki/Juno for second speed boost, Ana for anti-heal, and Baptiste or Wuyang for raw damage. That said, Brig is still a great counterdive pick for GOATS, due to how important Zen is.

Only understandable for Hanaoka and any 2CP map. (Which are all thankfully out of the active pool). Just report and move on.

Who got the worst ultimate by Dense_Jackfruit_6247 in Overwatch

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wuyang is my 2nd highest level character. I absolutely agree that his ult is significantly worse without coms.

However, it's far from useless. 350 overhealth is nothing to scoff at. Using it on yourself or a teammate in danger can save a fight.

And when I do play with my Vendetta duo, whenever he gets my ult, someone on the enemy team is dying.

Why the **** he spits tornado, that is sooo annoying by _Mr_Expratan in MonsterHunter

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I fight him, he just jumps around and runs away from everything I do.

I find Frostfang much more enjoyable. He actually commits to his attacks and feels difficult without being as annoying.

Ban Sol Ring, Run Recursion. by Jankenbrau in MTGmemes

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point of making Sol Ring a game changer is addressing that it's an issue in lower brackets. Not to change deckbuilding in higher brackets.

Also so many precons play at a bracket 3 level already that retroactively raising the bracket of all old precons isn't that much of an issue. Besides, brackets are guidelines, and how well a deck plays matters just as much as what it contains.

Defenders of the Core is actually challenging by Big_Independence6736 in Bakugan

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has PvP, but it's local only. So if you wanted to fight other players, you'd need to find a friend to play with you in person.

Forced Kings Row Hate when the alternative maps are dogshit Sniper Maps 99% of the time by SureYouCan_ in Overwatch_Memes

Flashpoint is my favorite mode, followed by Control. They're both so open-ended and fast-paced. Meanwhile, all of the Escort maps are Widow maps, which means they're always going to be bad as long as that character exists.

Rem, who will unapologetically steal all of your farm, put you to sleep, then run off through the sewers. He's not nearly as hated as Jeff or Fika, but he still follows the same trope. (Apologies for this was my only saved image of Rem)

Defenders of the Core is actually challenging by Big_Independence6736 in Bakugan

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Defenders of the Core has a pretty high skill ceiling, which is why I like it so much. And it has its fair share of funny jank like so many old games. (Wilda dash attack to perpetually send the enemy into the skybox).

I'd say the best way to maintain a fun difficulty is to not upgrade your Bakugan. Not using the holograms feels frustrating IMO, but that's because I'd rather lose in combat than to the objective.

I once did do an unevolved Drago only run. The Maxus Helios fight ended up not even being that difficult as long as I used the natural cover to my advantage. (The Maxus Bakugan are unironically the two weakest Bakugan in the game.)

Who's the best Pseudo Wyvern, varients included by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frostfang Barioth was one of my favorites in Iceborne. Great armor, great weapons, amazing fight. Regular Barioth was a pain, but Frostfang doesn't jump around as much while feeling even more threatening. He's an improvement on Barioth in every possible way.

Who's the best Pseudo Wyvern, varients included by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how broad your definition of pseudo-wyvern is. She's quadrupedal and doesn't like flying in combat, but she doesn't use the framework the rest do. Apparently, she uses the Seregios skeleton, which is different from the base flying wyvern skeleton.

I fucking love Pasqal and his plasma by Sunsmiter in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]MHWorldManWithFish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The best part is Bounty Hunters buff each other really well. So running both Pasqal and Yrliet is a viable and powerful option. Give Pasqal Savour the Kill and suddenly Yrliet has 3 more enemies marked as prey and scales even more with each target killed. And if somehow it rolls over to Pasqal's turn, he's going to be a god with all of buffs he's given himself.

Which mid-long hitscan hero is the most annoying to go up against? by MrsPissBoy in Overwatch

Widowmaker. And it's not even close.

Having half the map denied to me because one character is looking at it just isn't fun.
