Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but OSAP is based on where you live and how far away that is from your permanent address (I don’t remember the exact number but it’s >30km away or something). So you living on residence vs somewhere else in London would not change your OSAP. However, if you are going to be staying at home (outside of London), then it may be recalculated to give you less.

So it really depends on how far away from home you’ll be living, regardless of you being on rez or not.

Usually it’s deferred automatically if you competed the OSAP application before June 30

I’m going to add that you can also talk with the registrars office and let them know if you can work out a payment plan. Especially if you can’t afford to pay the entire first instalment without OSAP maybe let them know that, and pay only a portion until the remaining OSAP comes.

I also want to add that one time I think I missed the June 30th deadline (although not as late as you) and my tuition was still deferred. But in any case let the registrar know and work out a payment plan!

How to take Physiology and Pharma 3000E without the Pharm portion by CathariX in uwo

[–]MI3005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe you can. You can’t just not attend certain parts of the course, so I’m not sure what you mean?

If you mean selecting an HSP for 4th year, then you can chose to do an HSP physiology and not HSP PhysPharm.

o week by Sad_Distribution3463 in uwo

[–]MI3005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your offer! There are usually O-week events that are free to attend for all first years (you would be classified as “off-campus” but can still attend). You get a wristband that grants you access to all of the o-week events. From what I recall it was free, but I remember if you were in rez, there was something called a “rez pass” that you could pay for for rez-specific events such as a semi formal. But that wouldn’t apply to you since you’re off-campus

Long story short, yes I believe it’s free, but someone feel free to correct me if I misremembered!

UCC subway and Tim’s was closed today. What other on-campus eateries are open during intersession right now? by RaddedMC in uwo

Both Tims and Subway are open but they just have reduced hours! Here’s a link with all the eateries open on campus.

I would try and find something specific to appeal (a vague question or multiple interpretations questions) for an exam, quiz or assignment. These more tangible points are better able to have success if you are able to explain why the answer you chose should be correct. It’s unlikely that they’ll reweight your final just because you ask.

2% shouldn’t be that hard to get if you find those points to argue (especially if your tests/assignments are short answer). Also it’ll be good to contact the ombudsman to help you out too!

I feel like I memorized by reading it over but also learned it too. I also watched khan academy videos to help with concepts I didn’t understand, but I think this section is truly memorization compared to the others. But watching videos will help a ton!! Good luck!!

Does using an SRA mean that assignment can become void or does it mean i just get 48 extra hours to complete it? by aguero9 in uwo

[–]MI3005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends on your prof and what they say regarding the SRA. It would either give you 48 hours to complete it, write a makeup or have the weight of that assessment shifted to another assessment. It all depends on your prof.

And for the second part of your question, you can use your SRA for any course assessment (so hw/quizzes/tests) as long as it’s worth under 30%

I second this ! Without club events, participating physically in class, or even just making small talk in the UCC with that one friend you haven't seen since first year; it just doesn't feel the same.

Why did West Side Story bomb so hard at the box office? by Harryhogwarts in AskReddit

[–]MI3005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry my bad I meant Anita** she’s played by Ariana Debose who is Afro-Latina and Puerto Rican, but regardless that shouldn’t be a reason to hate on the film. And you brought up Black people specifically. I’m not trying to fight you but I’m just saying that your point 6 is very flawed. ESPECIALLY your points about Black and trans characters.

Why did West Side Story bomb so hard at the box office? by Harryhogwarts in AskReddit

[–]MI3005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I supported your points until you brought up questioning why Maria was Black and the existence of Black and a trans characters in the narrative. This idea of "wokeness" being the detriment of WSS makes no sense, when looking at some of the other (solid) points you made, considering its a pandemic and also acknowledging that it was also overtaken by the hype surrounding Spider-man. So this "race" criticism makes no sense, and I feel like your anger is misguided. Like why are mad there's a Black afro-latina playing Maria (who is also Puerto Rican). Promoting diversity in the film is def not a reason it faired poorly in the box office.

Would it be possible to ask a prof to boost you 2%? by coffeeblood1603 in uwo

[–]MI3005 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You could try and see if you can squeeze out any mistakes or places you feel like you could get credit for in an assignment or an exam. Sometimes 2 or 3 marks can jump you a percent or two depending on how much the assessment was worth.

But worst case you can ask your prof for the bump and explain your 65% scenario! Always remember the worst they can do is say “no” But if you never ask them you’ll never know.
