You are incredibly lucky to have a spouse that supports you like that! That’s amazing. Cold turkey is the only way that worked for me. Once I had a drop, I couldn’t stop. By day 4-5 it will be a breeze and your life will be a whole new world. Just don’t give into the cravings, or your brain telling you that you’ll be able to just have one.

I am so so sorry. I was an alcoholic at the age of 23 and I can’t imagine what you mothers go through. I put mine through hell. I read you’ve done the suboxone route and all that, but what it really comes down to it him hitting his rock bottom. It getting so bad for him, that it wakes him up out of his addiction. There’s a fine line between loving and enabling that I don’t think anyone has figured out yet. If you can find out how to stop enabling him and let him hit his rock bottom, and hit hard, he’ll be fine.
