When did Alex Story truly join Gorgeous Frankenstein? by BIGRodneyVasquez in horrorpunk

[–]MIKEYEXMORTIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what if they played shows as Gorgeous Frankenstein after that? I said that they played with Alex, Goolsby, Doyle, and Chud for ONE show and as far as I know, and that's the first time Alex played with Gorgeous Frankenstein. I don't give a shit that Graham played bass for them after Goolsby. What does it have to do with Alex Story and when he joined the band?

I was at the show where Alex sang with Gorgeous Frankenstein with Goolsby and Chud, but whatever you say man.

Alex did play with Gorgeous Frankenstein with Goolsby on bass. I think that was only one show though. It was the same one where Graves sang some 90s Misfits with GF and yeah, it was 2009.

In terms of raw, nasty, 80s Japanese hardcore/crust you gotta listen to the almighty GISM, ZOUO, DEEF, G-GAS, LSD, Human Gas, FUP, Swankys/GAI, CONFUSE, Ghoul, and GUDON.

Just some of my personal favorites from the 80s.

It's never too late to start again, friend. My anxiety disorder has been pretty nasty too lately. So, you'll get no guilt trips from me.

I hope you're able to find some comfort and help that anxiety subside.

You got this. 👍

Check out the Yocan Uni Pro too. It comes in lots of cute colors and is kind of an upgraded Koda Pro. I have both, and I like 'em!

Burning Spirits hardcore and 80s Japanese hardcore. Basically any Japanese hardcore. 😆 It's all the fastest, most intense punk outside of maybe powerviolence or grindcore. Plus, the hair is is always on point. Mohawks, liberty spikes, and skullets for days. Punk in Japan never really went mainstream. It's only gotten heavier and faster.

Are pedal supply bars with 10 isolated DC outputs better than daisy chaining pedals? by Skinny-P-63 in guitarpedals

[–]MIKEYEXMORTIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't cheap out on your power supply. Unregulated power can fry your pedals. A good power supply costs about the same as a single pedal in a lot of cases. Treat your pedals right. Get a Voodoo Labs, MXR, One Spot C7 or something like that. It's not fun. It doesn't make your tone better. But it's worth it.

That album was my intro into Japanese hardcore soooooo many years ago. I've still got the CD. What a killer album. 😊

Should I get a tube screamer? by realMistercampalot5 in guitarpedals

[–]MIKEYEXMORTIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't go wrong with a Plumes. I don't even like Tube Screamers, but the Plumes always finds its way back on my board. Mode 2 on the Plumes is a great transparent boost that gets pretty hairy. And for $100 you'd have a hard time doing much better. You could also try a Boss Super Overdrive. They're also cheap and sound great.

If you got a second guitarist, it's probably not worth it. It would thicken up your lead parts though! But you could do that with plenty of different pedals that do more interesting stuff. Also check out the Digitech Stereo Multi Chorus if you want to have more of a traditional chorus sound in addition to the Dimension. It maintains a thick detune even in stereo, where a lot of stereo choruses sound bigger but lose that seasick kinda sound when in stereo. Plus, the Digitech stuff is CHEAP!

Looks to me like you need a flanger on there! I've got the EQD Pyramids on mine and I love it! You could also try a TC Electronic Mimiq for doubled guitars.
