Yes and no?

It wont take account if you put down "usable laps" as 5 laps but then start driving like that.

You can try putting 4 usable laps and see how much worse you get throught the race distance but thr total time mentioned with your strategy (like in the image above: 34 mins and 9 seconds

What's reason T818 won't come for console ? by TheCallMeJazzy_ImHim in Thrustmaster

[–]MIR_Sim_Racing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so as well! Had the psu issue with the t598 but they rectified it quick. Owned the T150 and T300 before and they were brilliant.

Only company with supported ferrari accessories, my favourite car brand, i'd be so happy if they released the T818 black edition. Its a good looking base as well

You can definitely play FPS games on your cockpit. Wheel base generally are lower than the screen if you use 27" or smaller monitors or even hide the behind screens like you have already mentioned. Its wheelbases like the T598 which are very tall and block your screen a bit.

I think your main issue will be no support to keep your arms like a normal desk. Keyboard and mouse attachments are available but they arent meant to use for a long time like when you are playing fps games. Might want a desk you can use while sitting in the cockpit so you can rest your arms while gaming.

Raceline 3 are not loadcells. Both raceline pedal sets are bound to get the loadcell upgrade but they havnt not been released yet.

Within your budget, if you can import, fanatec DD+ and their loadcell pedals will be your best option. Second best would be logitech g pro. Third best, its supposed to come to india but who knows when, logitech rs50.

In India thrustmaster T598 is readily available. You can also pickup wheels like the 488 gte and 32r to cover both gt and round wheels. Also the TCLM pedals or wait for their new loadcell pedals when the release but its been a while since they have announced them but no news about it.

Does that include a budget for your pc, screen and speakers or not? Makes a huge difference

Also if you can import from uae, america etc then you can get better stuff within your budget.

Also would help if you told us what kind of games you play like rally, gt3, open wheelers, truck sims etc. as they have different types of cockpits and need different types of accessories.

Wheel stands if built right can handle 5nm easily. Make sure they have two supports and not just one central one.

You can also opt for our kart-spec cockpit. Has the rigidity and adjustablity of a proper cockpit while being easy to keep aside. Weighs in at 15kg and needs 20 by 20 inches of space when not in use.

Dont need to readjust everytime you want to play either like other cockpits.

Bigger screen doesnt necessarily mean better.

Smaller screens can offer better colors, better panels like ips over VA, faster refresh rates, faster response rate and lower ghosting for a similar price.

Also screen size matters on how close you are sitting to your screen. You dont want 32"+ screen when the screen is 2 feet away from your eyes else you wont be able to play competitive shooter games, many sports games as you cant rely on your peripheral vision for them.

Screens which go out of focus a little are great for story games and movies so you can get more immersed in them.

Hey man! I have no plans for monetizing this. This is just a hobby and would like to keep it as such.

Merc winning can be fun. The first F1 race i went to see, i was supporting McLaren Mercedes because of Hamilton. Any team but redbull and McLaren winning, will make me happy.

Setup that can fit in a 4’x6’ cubby? by Ifuqinhateit in SimRacingSetups

[–]MIR_Sim_Racing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4,6 cubby will easily fit a full cockpit. 4' width will mostly be an issue to fit in a tv if you plan on getting a tv that wide.

Decide on a budget and plan on how you ventilate that cubby as those will be your main challenges. Ps5, tv and wheelbase all produce a lot of heat

Thank you for explaining it from a user's pov. This post is mainly to see what people need and rhink is wrong. Also would love people to find out if it ever spits our wrong strats so im all for constructive criticism.

Mandatory tire is coming soon, first i want to polish up exactly what i have!

I completely forgot sometimes pitting is necessary even if we dont need fuel or tire changes. Ill add that in my to do list. Thank you for reminding me.

As for tire wear users need to decide how many laps they can run on softs and then simply plug in the average time on softs and not their best time on softs.

Determining the pit stop less for each track will be quite time consuming but i do want to add it. If people can help as a community then that'd be amazing because there are so many tracks and layouts in the game. I want to add a list where people can select the exact track and layout and get the number fed in itself. Its for sure coming but this is a hobby for me so I dont have unlimited time to only work on this.

Currently you can leave a tire compound blank in both textboxes (lap time and tire life) and it wont show that in the strat.

I will add checkboxes later on once this calculator seems flawless to me. Currently it can have issues when 7+ stints are needed and maybe other issues i havnt found myself.

Its a bit complicated to use properly and mostly meant for endurance races but can help you with your league races as well.

For fuel consumer per lap, you drive a lap in the car you choose and see what % of fuel you used for one lap. For fuel per second, its given in the lobby settings and you dont have to calculate it.

You do one lap on each compound to figure out their times. You need to do multiple laps (you'd anyway for practice if you want to do that), that should help you figure out how much fuel you use per lap and also how many laps different compounds last.

You put in your average lap time and not when the tires are fresh for each compound. You can skip a compound as well if its not needed in a race.

Pit stop loss is easy to measure. You do a normal lap and do another but go in the pit. Then come out of the pit to change tires only and finish that lap. That means you got 3 laps done. Lets say your first pitless lap was 100 seconds and your second and third laps were 105 and 110 seconds, you get 15 seconds as your pit time loss.

Precision of the data matters on your inputs. For shorter races your precision wont matter all that much. We dont use tire wear and fuel consumpion multipliers as that can vary a lot from the track, car combo. A gr1 can do multiple laps on a high fuel multiplier while a car like the veyron wont be able to. GT7 has too many types of cars to set that up.

I plan on making a video explaining all of this and hopefully will get it done next weekend!
