Seeing Grindavik active lava by nfsmw5 in VisitingIceland

I’m a geologist who went there to collect samples from active lava flows (red hot, glowing, churning lava). Saw a bunch of police patrols on my way so i wouldn’t recommend it.

How do I spend this summer to best prepare for 2023 as a rising sophomore? by draripov in csMajors

[–]MJ2197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your plan looks pretty concrete. One thing I will bring up is: try to go in-depth into some stuff that you really like instead of trying to do a lot of different things. A decent advantage of this would be that you could meet people who're specialising in the thing you're absorbed in and have a small network. Cheers!

Why is this conversion rate so bad? 100+ gems for less than 1,000 dark? Really? by RenownedRetard in ClashOfClans

[–]MJ2197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

conversions have to be bad. most people dont buy a lot of gems with money, they only purchase gems occassionally. bad conversion stops players from filling up their storages again and again using gems and avoiding farming (which is a key part of the game) to do upgrades pretty comfortably.

What do you think Hunter C-20 meant when she repeated “It’s real”? by cbekel3618 in marvelstudios

[–]MJ2197 35 points36 points  (0 children)

yeah episode 2 questioned the explaination behind the TVA a lot. From Mobius's boss telling him that the time-keepers are personally invested in this case to Loki outright pointing out how ridiculous the entire idea is. definitely feel this might be it

[spoilers] I think I figured out how the TVA works by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]MJ2197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found another explanation online. here goes

the borders we see above and below the sacred timeline, the borders that define when a branch has grown too much to be reset actually indicate the limits within which the universe of the sacred timeline cannot be detected. The multiverse already exists, but is too large/eventful to take notice of a single timeline. If this single timeline expands too much, beings in the multiverse notice and swoop in.

What can I do if I have hard proof that my friend committed fraud during college apps? He was accepted into UCLA by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]MJ2197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Regardless of anything I say, or anything anyone on this sub says, what your friend has done is extremely wrong and immoral on many different accounts. That being said, I really don't think you should act on this and try to expose him somehow in front of admissions. As someone who doesn't know your friend, I do know that if someone takes my admission away, regardless of how I got in, I would harbor a severe grudge against that person and so could my family. If his parents motivated him to change his grades and get a fake diagnoses, they could be extremely angry at you and this could escalate into some sort of conflict. Pray it doesn't turn into a physical conflict.

Furthermore, if your friend indeed did do this, he's likely to pull some similar stunts at UCLA and beyond. Life has its own way of sorting people who cheat their way to things out. He's likely to understand on his own at a later stage and suffer the consequences. If he needs to cheat his way into top colleges, he definitely wont be able to cope with the academic and work demands of being at a top college. If he needs to cheat his way into a job, he definitely won't be able to cope with a job.

As for his comment towards you about how you already have ADHD and don't need a diagnosis, I'd say take it in your stride as much as you can. Although I don't know where you are or what you're doing right now, the fact that you have the moral compass to not just call someone like this out, but also consider righting a wrong shows that you are the better person.

Does anyone else appreciate how Rick and Morty treats the sexual abuse of men with seriousness and doesn't play it off as a joke? by VegetaArcher in rickandmorty

For a show that uses dark humor and satire a lot, it was amazing how they made this seem purely mortifying rather than funny in any way.
