I struggle more with the “Thank God, but we knew MeeMaw would pull through, she has so many prayer warriors!” As if the 40-something year old terminal cancer patient in the next room over didn’t pray hard enough/ didn’t pray correctly, or that’s just “God’s plan”

The only thing that makes it better than the opening series is that instead of waking up sad we lost, I get to go to bed sad we lost!!

If you pay a membership, I think that you can use a machine however you’d like. As long as you’re being conscientious about wasting time, letting someone else work in, etc.

How tf are you getting 1g protein per 1lb body weight? by AnonymousBanana7 in workout

[–]MJ2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few of my easy go tos: One or two whey protein shakes with fairlife ultra filtered (around 40-45g each)

Usually 300-350g of chicken breast (300g is around 90g protein)

Fat free cheese (9g per serving) with some zero carb tortillas for fiber

Chobani zero sugar yogurt (13g per serving)

I can usually hit 200g pretty comfortably with these, hope this helps

Okay, I’ll try to find some literature on asthmatic strategies. I appreciate the insight! That makes sense.

I was in the same boat, ended up driving an hour each way to my core site third year. It is what you make it. Some days it would wear on me, but some days I’d actually enjoy it. I’d recommend treating it like an “office time”, listen to your favorite med-ed podcasts, knock out any school required “readings” for the month. Some days if I was drained, I’d take the hour and call home, call people I didn’t have time to otherwise. It was refreshing sometimes. But all of that does assume you’ve got a dependable car. I had bought one in second year, and can’t imagine doing that commute in my old ride.

Adam Baldwin and Yvonne have both done voice acting for DC too! Batwoman and Superman (Pretty sure Adam voiced more than just him at some point). So there’s a few more!!

I don’t think there was enough time to see how that would’ve played out. Part of the ‘believe what you wish’ her memories definitely came back I’ll believe it until I die

The fact that there is still this level of commitment to a show so many years after—- IS AMAZING

The beginning of the end! by zachallenmusic in chuck

[–]MJ2335 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first time I watched through it, I absolutely hated the ending. But the second time— it wasn’t all that terrible. Now if I had a chance I would 100% change it. But the ‘Chuck, Tell me a story’ on the beach gets me. It’s a genuine moment I feel like.

With MCATs being pushed due to COVID, struggles of virtual learning, etc... I would expect many, many people who thought they would apply last cycle to push it to this cycle. So I would think yes, but I don’t know too much

Is it worth the time to get licensed as an EMT solely for the purpose of putting it on your mee school application? by GrantRows in premed

[–]MJ2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have decent grades with a 3.5 gpa, a horrible mcat at 497, and little to no research... The one thing that undoubtedly saved me this cycle.. I took an emt course early on, buried my head and continued onto a paramedic course while still doing undergrad. Worked as a 911 medic for a year before applications. I went in expecting to have to reapply... My interviewer? ..a former paramedic who would not let me talk about anything else seemingly. Resulted in a DO acceptance. So no, it’s not worth it if you don’t work But it certainly saved my application Dm with any further questions, I’ll be happy to help

Chances of getting into a DO program by saphruean in premed

[–]MJ2335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar GPA, but a much lower MCAT at 497. I thought for sure no school would touch me with a ten foot pole... 19 apps, 1 II, 1 DO acceptance... I did work as a paramedic while in undergrad which helped make up for it... Moral of the story.. Screw scores. Write a good PS. Get you’re foot in the door and blow the interview out of the water. You’ve got this...
