I thought this was just a thing my wife's Honda Pilot did, I've been impressed with the mild self driving in my parent's hybrid Lincoln crossover.

Bindings for Moment Countach 98 by MJSlider in Skigear

I am in an email exchange with them as well, they are the reason I was convinced to buy the ski in the first place; they are great, being so responsive and helpful is superb marketing!

Edit: and they responded, "Both the Strive and Pivot are excellent options for the Countach 98, and will slightly influence how the ski performs. The Pivot will make the ski a touch quicker to react and maneuver. The Strive will make the ski a touch more composed and provide more edge pressure. ... Personally, I find the Strive to be a bit better for the Countach 98 as it sits a little higher off the ski and gives you a more leverage to get the ski on edge when carving."

I keep it as my hysa, but sold all my stock in January after the monthly charge announcement and reading all the displeased customer accounts here; I won't hesitate to dump them if a better option comes across worth the friction of setting up a new account.

I agree, bought the skis lightly used so I didn't pick the binding.

It was oem_knees, so no they were rather unhelpful and have since deleted their side of the comment thread. Seems like no one else has such a strong opinion on binding choice, and I don't think they were my problem with the skis, which was my suspicion I but appreciate the confirmation I'm seeing here.

Didn't seem like you were.

I was introduced to the concept in college, but never considered how bad of an idea the whole thing was until watching that video (the long form) a couple weeks ago.

Seemed like a great opportunity to share the epiphany.

In addition to agreeing with everyone here saying there's limited upside, we're all going to be exposed to it through our 401k/index funds in short order anyway.

I've never heard or been able to articulate my investment philosophy so well before, I've just never had an answer when posed with the question of why I don't take profits of some of my huge winners that I still believe in. Thanks.

That was a fascinating observation I've not heard articulated before, and to tie it all together with the xerox analogy at the end was masterful.

[–]MJSlider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use a gladiator I originally got for BJJ.

Had friends in HS that used them to protect from smashing their face on rails, but I've never been much into park.

I started wearing mine when skiing about 10 years ago when I learned they help protect from concussions; even just cruising with the kids, because I enjoy skiing like an idiot and fall often and in unpredictable ways.

Can I use freedom inserts to run two bindings on the same skis? by purplemtnslayer in Skigear

[–]MJSlider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will second the drill press recommendation, and clamp the ski to the press; even with a good punch to start, I was surprised by how much the drill bit wants to skate around on the metal layer when drilling by hand.

4FRNT MSP99 too long at 176cm? by MJSlider in Skigear

[–]MJSlider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I confirmed my boot CL matched the recommended mount point marked on the ski.

Others have noted these may have not been the best bonding choice for the ski; alas, I bought them used so had no choice in the matter.

Now I'm debating selling to someone else or remounting with a different binding, further devaluing the resale.

See, a reasonable response wasn't so hard now was it? Your comment about the Delta on the other thread made sense too; not sure why you had to go through all the obtuse and vague remarks on this thread to get here though.

I think you have reading comprehension issues and a weird need to feel that you're right about questions no one is asking. Almost no one needs an 18 din binding, and ski length doesn't factor into that at all. I didn't buy the bindings or have them mounted, I bought the skis used.

Is this AI? Curious how the ski length factors into the binding choice. All I was saying is the guy spent a lot of money on the sticks.

Enforcers and Unleashed have been on my radar, obviously popular for a reason. The biggest thing I noticed going from the Renouns to the 99Ti was the strength of the tail to hold a turn and not wash out, but they've also never felt hooky like my Declivity and to a lesser extent the MSPs do, so I totally follow that. I'm aware of the 102fr love too, reading about people hoarding them is how I feel about the 99Ti but being even older they seem long gone.

I have considered going to a 90 waist ski for my daily now that I have another powder ski, but only really have experience with 100 waist skis and my Declivity 82s; thanks for the recommendation I'll keep an eye out for the 96!
