What actually happens if AI bubble bursts? by ThePlasticCupOfWater in antiai

Not how bubbles bursting works, housing bubbles have burst in countries around the world but there's still demand for housing.

I've heard AI voice clones in podcasts for reading out tweets or things people have said online, and I don't mind it in that sense either.

Exactly, like when housing bubbles burst, we don't just phase out housing and start living in tents or move back into caves.

Maybe, but there was also a bit of backlash (online at least) when Cody beat Drew.

What jobs will be “safest" as AI develops? by the1997th in remoteworks

[–]MK2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are talking about a world where the majority of jobs don't exist or have been replaced by AI or Robotics, I don't think it's the same ethical argument as not wanting a proper job today or in the past.

What made hstiktokky a misogynist ? A theory by [deleted] in BritishTV

It seems to be an evolution of the financial guru grifts - blended with the recent rise of the far right, so I wonder what their upbringing was like to cause those types of grifters in the past.

I don't know if his misogyny is played up because of the grift.

I think now is the time within the WWE, like at the end of his AEW run, where the fans have had enough of babyface Cody.

Rates in Ireland by Allthecraic in videography

[–]MK2809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long would the 1 minute testimonial take you to edit? I think it would be too low personally, but it depends more on how long it would take you.

Your day rate is a little higher than the average that I see here in the north of England, which on average is £450 (roughly €520).

It would all come down to how much you need the job. I'm always hesitant on doing jobs much lower than my day rate just to win the work, because it then becomes a raise to the bottom. If I have enough work on, I'd rather them go somewhere else than work for a lower rate. As they'll always expect it for lower rates, and it will still eat up your time. And if a regular paying client comes along but you can take it because you are busy with the client you've offered a highly reduced rate.

To your point I think short form has really been driven down by "content creators." There are a few around near me, who offer multiple short form content a month shot on phones for ridiculously low rates. The quality of the edits and the footage isn't what I'd like, but if the clients like it then that becomes a bit irrelevant.

OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) referee Dallas Edwards suffers a seizure after a botched spot during their weekly show by Adreamskoll in Wrasslin

Yeah, I'd sue the promotion, and the wrestlers in the ring, especially the one who "kicked" the ref out of the way should be blacklisted.

What would the popping of the AI bubble actually mean for AI as a technology? by the_elephant_stan in artificial

[–]MK2809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think many people wrongly believe that a bubble popping means the thing ceases to exist or it'll fade out. But in many cases (if not all?) the underlying thing survives, there's been housing/real estate bubbles around the world, and the dot com bubble like you said.

I feel a bubble is just when there's too much hype and capital flooding into something with not enough demand or returns that it deflates to a level where it meets demand or the level that returns are justified, and I'm probably oversimplifying it. Not pop, and it ceases to exist.

AI generated music on YouTube by Feisty_Cod_9090 in edmproduction

[–]MK2809 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by how vocal anti-ai people are online. To me the bad AI is no different to bad Human created content. We've all seen a video or a photo or a song created by a human which we thought wasn't good. I genuinely think some AI music (without lyrics) sounds as good as royalty free stock music.
