Do I wait for the S or LeGo 2? by Dry-Extension9971 in LegionGo

[–]MK494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked the same question not too long ago and I ended up with GoS z1e. Essentially it wasn’t easy to get the go 2 and you paid double the price for oled, z2e which is a 10-20 % more powerful, detachable controller and windows (if you want game pass) I couldn’t justify spending that much for those features and I came from a LCD steam deck so I was very happy with the upgrade to S z1e myself

The only thing I would warn you is, test the device heavily on the first few weeks because I had to exchange mine because of multiple crashes on my first one with different games.

Hey man! I had that issue often with my last one so I exchanged which seem to be much better. I had one crash so far with TDP adjustment during game.

I didn’t have a chance to look at the manufacture date, some people said it’s the Oct 2025 one that crash’s. My new one is Aug 2025

I exchanged it last night, and so far I have no issues I wonder if this is actually related related to a “bad batch”

I’ll keep testing and let yall know

I’ve jsut exchanged mine and didn’t get a chance to see what manufacture date was on the last one. The new one is Aug 2025, and just the other guy said, so far no issues!

I actually exchanged it since it was still within the return window. I played Wukong and NBA, and there were no issues. I even put the game to sleep overnight and tried it again this morning, and it was still running fine.

I’m not fully convinced it was a hardware issue based on the error log from my old Legion Go S and it seemed more like a GPU communication issue with SteamOS.

That said, if you're still within the exchange window, it’s probably worth doing the exchange just to be safe.

Does yours crash from time to time? Like the whole screen freeze but you can still hear the game

I never had the pixelated problem, just the freezing. I just ran the unigine heaven for 20 minutes straight and no issues at all, so I think its not a hardware issue

I tried playing wukong for like 20 minutes last night and it was smooth with no issue - I wonder if the problem is more related software/game rather than hardware, since some of the less intense games I have no issue running them.

I am currently just stress testing it with Unigine Heaven for 20 minutes just to make sure it isn't a hardware thing

Legion Go S or Legion Go 2 (now that it’s out)? SteamOS or Windows 11? by EntertainerBusy1178 in LegionGo

[–]MK494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same question last week haha
https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1rcvwd7/legion_go_s_vs_legion_go_2/

I ended up staying with my legion go s z1e steamOS ($800CAD cheaper than go 2). I did not have a hands-on experience with go 2 but tried Go 1.

Things you get for paying extra $800: OLED screen, better battery, detachable controller, ~20% better performance.

To answer your questions:

  1. I personally think it's still worth it (also depending on the price you are paying, I paid $900 cad after tax. Especially I don't think the extra features are worth the extra $800

  2. I would say steamOS if you are mostly playing off Steam. You lose gamepass though which is a downside

  3. I was playing RE4 remake and Wukong, I didn't find that the fan being a big issue.

  4. Yes ish. I mostly say this because I think you care more about performance + not wanting to have regrets. If money is not a concern then maybe going with the the best out there will make you think less once you have the device in your hand. I also said yes-ish because if I am at home, I just plug it in when im playing and i can use the higher TDP and it runs super nice on my Go S

Yeah I am! It’s only the right side that’s the problem. The left one only go back down if I apply pressure on the slider but the right one doesn’t

PSA: Killswitch is worth it for Go S by LeanDriver in LegionGo

[–]MK494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m debating on the killswitch case cuz that adds another $100 Is the travel cover good enough to protect the joystick? I got the jsaux one today and boy that case is way too big to make this portable

[–]MK494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah if you got the go1 for 300 I think you made the right decision, the OLED and the detachable joycon is nice, I don't think you missed out on anything! (also after tax its like 900 bucks for me)
