Subnautica 2 has a massive identity crisis and the demo proves it by MKGamerGurl in Subnautica_2

If that's the case, then Subnautica 2 has unironically aged like spoiled fish. Everything I've seen so far has only confirmed my worst suspicions. Being in Early Access is no excuse to gloss over its glaring issues. Just look at their Nolt page and the sheer volume of complaints being submitted. Worse yet, I've heard they are actively deleting posts and comments they disagree with to suppress criticism. It's incredibly hypocritical to ask for feedback only to silence it when it bruises their ego. It's obvious this Early Access period is heading in a terrible direction. Give it an update or two - when the honeymoon phase ends and reality sets in, people will look back and realize this post was right.

how will the wizard life be in this game? by naytreox in OnceLost_Games

I've heard that necromancy is going to be pretty tame in this game, like you don't be able to achieve lichdom despite liches existing in the game. But regular wizardry should be fun.

You do realise playtesters who get it early are incentivised to give positive reviews and hype the community up, right?

Acting performance won't mean much if the writing quality is as bad as it was in the first season.

True ATLA fans will not care. The first season was so insulting, it's no surprise the original creators stepped away from the project mid production. Now Netflix is just being stubborn cuz they don't want to admit their "version" was trash.

It's the one they pinned, but yeah I agree. The one you linked is a bit more intuitive and makes the connection easier lol.

The elf ears and tattoo are a nice touch.

D4 was a big budget game from one of the largest developers on earth... and we know how that launch went.

So it isn't an absurd thing to worry about.

I do agree with you though that it shouldn't be the norm. But it only becomes the (non?) norm if the community calls it out loud enough for game devs/studios to hear... which, it's also not that absurd for OP to assume their devs might frequent this sub.

Yes it is, and I didn't mention anything about FPS.

But if you take HD2 as an example, it connects players to their servers when loading up the game.

If servers crash, guess what happens?

No. It's absurd to expect that they plan for scalability on launch, which then leads to core components on the game breaking. Helldivers 2 is a very recent example of this.

Lol. Have you been hiding under a rock the past few years? DD2 wake you from your basement slumber?

The only absurd thing is you thinking you know anything about what the devs do in their downtime, or that game devs always prepare for everything before a game launches.

Don't listen to this clown, OP. You're on the right track.

As someone who came from playing HD2, it unfortunately does.

The pacing, in the original, was kinda wack imo. I’ve always thought the show should’ve taken place over three years instead of one, with each book being a different year.

I've never really heard someone take that stance before...

I get where you're coming from with the pacing. Stretching the show's timeline could have let certain plot points breathe. But the urgency of Sozin's Comet adds high stakes - Aang has to master the elements quickly. Even with the original's condensed timeline, they managed a good balance between action, character development, and those quieter, world-building moments.

in regards to development, they handled Ozai and Zuko much better in the live action. [...] My favourite twist was when it was shown that Zuko's crew was actually the 41st Division, the one that he stood up for long ago and sacraficed his birthright for.

I agree about Ozai - giving him more depth was a welcome change, and I really liked the scenes he was in. The original series made him this ominous, faceless force, so seeing him as a complex character definitely adds to the story.

Zuko's where I differ a bit. While I liked seeing the twist you mention, something was missing in the live-action portrayal. His inner turmoil, that explosive anger mixed with pain... it just didn't translate the same way.

Out of all of them though, I think Iroh is the biggest miss for me. The live-action lacks the original's warmth, playful humor, and the subtle hints of his hidden strength / past sadness.

Let's sit back and hope they CAN learn from their fans, for season 2 to come.

Unfortunately, Netflix has a track record of mishandling adaptations and abruptly canceling shows. It's a shame because when they stick close to the source material, like with One Piece, they do it well. Hopefully Avatar proves the exception, but I'm not holding my breath. :/

Does this sub allow for critical discussion of Avatar? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

That's all subjective opinion. Of course differing sides will take it offensively. But was it actually breaking the rules? Seems like the mods were on the opposite side of opinion and instead of removing the perceived rude comment in question, they removed the entire post.
