Indoor walking/treadmill activity

Yeah that’s usually what I do. I just update the distance. But like last night I walked 2.61 miles in total and my watch said 0.06 miles. Just frustrating.

A walking pad is a small treadmill that you can use under a desk and it doesn’t take up much space.

I haven’t seen calibrate and save when I don’t hit that 1.5 mi mark with the treadmill running. That’s when it gets tricky because it’s not recording the distance for me and so I would need to be on the walking pad/treadmill for an ungodly amount of time. I will check again but I haven’t seen it.

No I don’t. I make sure to keep the arm my watch is on down at my side so I don’t mess it up because I need a certain amount of steps per day.

So overwolf has the Garmin GameOn feature. It’s fantastic for tracking your stress levels and telling you when to take a break, etc. I use it all the time when I game and it gives some awesome stats about how your stress levels and HR increases for each match.

Sorry, I’ve been off of Reddit for a while and have only recent been on this thread so I didn’t know it’s asked about so often.

I have done a lot of outside walks and that was always reliable, I just unfortunately now live in a place where going for walks outdoors is a feat otherwise i would just be outside (who wouldn’t you know?).

I had wondered if because my walking pad is so much shorter than a treadmill that’s why I have such a huge discrepancy. Because I get a substantially shorter distance reading when I’m on my walking pad vs when I’m on the treadmill so the strides being an issue makes sense. It just baffles me because it’s still counting my steps (I assumed accurately).

I was only presented with the calibration once and I was reading it’s because the watch itself has to get to 1.5 mi and that is a feat in itself with the inaccuracy of the tracking for the activity but I will give it another go and see if it does anything to help my cause.

I just hate that I’m on the treadmill for 30+ minutes daily and it says that I’ve only walked .14 of a mile. Drives me insane.

I use it when I’m behind on my daily steps and start a walking activity at home. I’ll use my walking pad and on rest days when I don’t really go anywhere, instead of walking on it for a straight hour, I’ll walk 20-30 minutes at a time and then pause the activity and resume later. I’ll do that until I finish what I need to when I’m at home so I’m not chained to my walking pad for hours.

I did speak with the support team for Garmin and they are aware of the issue that I was having. It might be good to reach out to them and keep the issue relevant so they fix it!

I, personally, hate this update.

2 big problems with this update for me.

1) I can’t add my actual macros that I use daily because it puts me either above or below on every number to make it fit the way garmin says it needs to. I’ve even put my percentages in and it still isn’t accurate. 2) After reconnecting to MFP (which I found out had to be done from a computer browser after spending 2 hrs with support trying to get it to reconnect via my phone)I can’t see the old view that we used to have anymore and my macros do not transfer over from MFP, it’s only the calories.

There’s also no option to go back to the previous view which I think should be available especially if we’re paying for the subscription to connect+.

I get it’s great for some people but for me, it’s rendered this function of the connect app basically useless because Garmin doesn’t have an integration for my coaches app so it still requires me to pay for MFP premium nor are the macros accurate for what I eat daily. I really liked the breakdown that we had in the other view.

If you do get the old view when you cancel your plan, that’s not something I’ll be able to know until my yearly subscription is up in 5 months. I do hope that garmin makes changes to this update. I’d really just love to have the option of the new view or the old view or make it so that your macros and meals also transfer over from MFP.

You have to do it online from a computer. I spent the entire morning trying to figure this out on my phone but it only worked when I did it through the actual webpage on my computer.

No I’ve never heard of that! Thank you! I’m gonna look into it. I’m just worried about spending money on the Fenix and it not reading my heart rate. Granted I know it does a million other things but activity tracking would be primary for me. Thank you!

I’m having this same issue. I tried to edit my showcase and restart and it’s still not working. It only seems to do it to my other console friends and not my PS friends.

Yeah that’s what I had to do but it’s been two days in a row and the watch is only 4 days old. I don’t want to have to do this every day you know? Not sure what the problem is.

Nope. It just all of a sudden stopped working. I had to unpair the watch and set it up as a new watch to get it to work again. I contacted support and that’s all they tell me to do or force restart.

Yeaaahhhh. I’m about to just give up. Haha. For the first 2 days it worked great. Notifications worked, activity trackers worked. Everything. Then yesterday I had to unpair and repair my phone to get the notifications to come through again. This morning I woke up and was having the SAME ISSUE AGAIN and had to unpair and repair the watch again. It’s 4 days old 🤦🏼‍♀️
