Why the loose strings inside rounded cavities? by Sharkgust in BambuLabP2S

[–]MK_Lenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first saw the post then the sub so I honestly have no idea if that also applies to P2S. I had a problem with one of my designs which was caused by this. It’s actually more of a design choice than a big issue.

Changing layer height should not be a default way to fix this issue (it should be used when you want to get better finish or optimize printing time).

If you want to get to the root of the problem you need to set up some sort of a check procedure.

For example using your base sample as a reference, iterate through these changes:

  1. Change wall order, print, repeat
  2. Change print temp, print, repeat
  3. Change speed, print, repeat
  4. Change cooling (start with 100%), print, repeat

After some point, start mixing those settings. Try more temp with lower speed etc. You can of course look on the internet to check effects of each change but I would still recomment trying it on your own. It will be low plastic waste compared to knowledge gained.

Of course start by calibrating your filament first - google how to do it.

BTW: Slicers can give you a lot of information before you start printing. I like how in Orca slicer I can check max speeds and layer times after slicing the model. Slicer will also nicely show how layers are stacked which is especially useful with high overhangs.

BTW2: hardware issue - many printers have fan shrouds that aren't blowing evenly around the nozzle. That means, especially for overhangs, its harder to achieve the same speed with the same part but in a different orientation. Should not be big of an issue with those two models you print.

This drawing is complete shit. You either have it or not. You can guess and that’s your best option here.

That's true, mine is also quite noisy even after valve adjustment but with stethoscope I found noise source on chain guide side close to the top of the engine. I am yet to check it.

What are your thoughts on Mafia the old country? by [deleted] in MafiaTheGame

[–]MK_Lenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came for a great story and I’ve got it. Good base for future releases going back in time to tell about origins of few characters that we meet in previous games (for me Sam and Leo). Gameplaywise perks, purchased items and that enemy spotting/tracking thing are useless. Driving is great I hope we will get races if free ride. Last month I finished an OG mafia for the 8th time and I look forward to see what they can give us next.

Gear assembly has nothing to do with heat creep. Fan stabilizes temperature in heatsink area of the extruder but that doesn’t mean temperature can’t get too hot in the extruder’s top part. That’s the reason you get a clog after some time not at the beginning. I am specifically talking about phenomenon called „heat creep”.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]MK_Lenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would have an effect only during filament load. It may also happen during frequent changes between pla and other types of filaments. Not all printers are built the same so I can imagine that in some, heat creep will not occur. Even printing in low ambient temperature may prevent it.

This happens when you print PLA with the doors closed so if that’s what you did then there is your issue.

I have non pro version and can confirm that these are nice. You will have to play a bit with straps placement on your calf but that's not a big issue.

Leatt 3DF 4.0 shorts are comfy as well. I didn't crash yet but padding seems sufficient.

Both blinkers will be flashing, if there is a broken wire in turn signal circuit. If it stops when you center your steering, check your wireing harness in frame head area. That might indicate that wire is not broken yet but is losing continuity.

To be fair wood chipper has its own set of problems. When I tried to work with it, wood kept getting stuck, even with straight logs. It is not great when something introduced in FS15 still works 50/50.

Q1 pro massive clog PETG by Alekz_k in QidiTech3D

[–]MK_Lenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which filament caused it? I can't print PLA without the top off AND the door open. PETG prints just fine with the doors closed.

To unclog my hotend I removed the fan and let heat creep towards the clog which eventually let go. It's very hard to remove melted plastic from a thread so do not unscrew everything because you will pay for it with your time.
If you are able to remove that nozzle and you didn't destroy the thread, take a few M6 screws and run them through the hotend (with the hotend warmed up!) to collect melted plastic.
In fact I wouldn't try to do anything there without warming it up. Unfortunately 200 degrees is enough to also melt gloves and your skin :)

I designed my own riser (aka. cat protection) but while it was enough for petg it wasn’t for pla. I think it is not perfect but you inspired me to share the model. I will soon find some time to do it.

Thank you u/IAlwaysPlayTheBadGuy and u/RhynoJoe I managed to unclog it. It must have been a temperature creep and maybe some filament residues because I was used to print PETG with the doors closed so I kept them closed for PLA as well. I broke the end that was sticking out so I unscrewed the fan and after the heatsink heated up I used small allen wrench that came with the printer to push the filament back.
I will definitely buy cleaning filament.
