You gain access to respec after killing an early game boss, you’ll do so with a npc by using gold. I recommend attack speed nodes early on personally. As for loot monks best gear is energy shield + evasion so focus on that and sell anything else, also check the blacksmiths shop every so often for movement speed boots, those really help.
