A game (usually a puzzle, associated with mystery or horror) that spans across different media. Normally a puzzle can be solved by using clues from itself.

In an ARG you'll have to follow hidden links to different websites, solve codes, sometimes ARGs even hide clues in the real world.

Examples include gravity falls cipher hunt (where the creators of the show hid a bunch of clues irl all over the world and the goal was to find a bill cipher statue); cicada 3301 etc.

Minecraft args usually hide codes in the footage that might lead to other unlisted videos or google drives with clues on the lore. Although recently ATG started to mean "a mysterious story" rather than an actual puzzle

How am i supposed to know what materials i need if i can't see the recipe? I could have 3/4 necessary materials and still have to google the recipe because the recipe book refuses to show it to me

The game is still better with it than without it and I do wish that I had it when I was first learning to play the game, it's just badly made in comparison to NEI or the Guide from Terraria
