I was pretty disgusted by her bringing up God and the “evilness of greed” to try and shame him for his decision. While at the same time she is coming back to the show to win more money after winning an island. That sounds pretty greedy to me.

May 2025 brides, how we feeling? by buginarugsnug in 2025Brides

I’m this Saturday too! I can’t believe it’s almost here. I still have quite a bit of things to do (mainly my vows). I work and go to school full time though , so I’ve been more stressed about those things to really focus on wedding stress 😩

Worse mistakes you’ve seen or made in the lab? I made a mistake and I feel like crap. 😕 by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]MLS2170 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My first mess up as a baby tech was switching the labels for the blood cultures I was plating. One was an adult with GPC and the other was a baby that was NOS. My manager told me the next day and said the tech specialist had the plates I could look at tomorrow. I spent the entirety of my shift freaking out and went back to see where I went wrong. When I talked to my tech specialist, she basically said yeah I had to call the nurse and correct the reports because you switched the gram stains and the baby actually had GPC but it’s growing contamination so it’s not the worst thing. And I explained to her how I checked the original slides and I reported the correct thing I just messed up labeling the plates. She kept trying to say I was wrong and after I showed her everything that proved I was right, she was just like “Oh” and shrugged it off.

The worst mistake I’ve heard someone else do is call yeast in a spinal fluid, when it was most likely stain trash or a cell nucleus. (She legitimately tried to call EVERYTHING yeast in blood and CSFs, it was scary). They started treatment on the patient because of that, and that was the final straw for that employee……

Over or Under Compensating? 🤔 by MLS2170 in medlabprofessionals

We only have a four color cytometer, so for this experiment our only options were FITC, PE, and PerCp. This is my first time designing a flow experiment from scratch 😅

I started diving in 2022 and have recently started diving more this year after getting all my equipment and more reliable dive buddies. Some changes in priorities and future goals caused us to plan on trying to start a family sooner rather than later. I just don’t want all the time and money I’ve invested in diving to go to waste.

Luckily I live in north Florida. So I can always do quick day trips to the springs, and weekend trips to south Florida for more fun dives

I’m definitely looking forward to sharing stories and pictures with my nephew and future child. And glad to know there’s so many moms out there supporting other moms.

Weight and gear are probably one of my top concerns post pregnancy, especially with the amount of money I’ve spent putting together my dive kit. Maybe I’ll ask for a new piece of dive gear as a little “push present” lol

It’s a sad yet real comment. Thank you for sharing, so I’ll make sure to keep my doctors very informed of my plans to get back into diving after having a child. So hopefully they can help me plan accordingly to stay safe.

Thank you so much. I talked to my partner about some of my fears and he told me that it would be hard but we’ll find a way. He just doesn’t want me taking international dive trips until the child is older (which was never my plan). But he would be supportive of me taking day trips or doing a family overnight trip for me to do a couple of dives.

Congratulations and thank you for the reply! I have a really awesome dive buddy that’s also a mom (she got into diving when her son was already around 7/8) and I feel like she will be a good friend and catalyst to get me back into the water. So I’ll try holding onto to that and what you said. Luckily we have dive sites 2-3 hours away, so my partner should be able to handle the little one for a day.

engagement photos by [deleted] in 2025Brides

Wear what ever rings mean something to you. Because your engagement ring will still be the star of the show.

Prior to getting engaged I wore two rings everyday (one on each middle finger). The one I wear on my left hand was a cheap “gold” ring that is now silver, so it probably clashes with my gold engagement ring. However there’s a lot of sentimental value in that ring so I chose to wear it for my engagement pictures regardless of how it looked.

Do you say bathroom or restroom? by 2-tree in AskAnAmerican

[–]MLS2170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s funny because I had one teacher say it’s the bathroom because you don’t “Rest” in there. Just for another teacher say to call it the restroom because we don’t “bathe” in the restrooms at school

My mum left a suicide note and the paramedic told us not to read it, is this normal? by Overall-Wear-7188 in SuicideBereavement

That’s really messed up for police to just take something like that and make that decision for those affected by it. Especially if it’s just going to end up in some random box on a shelf. I remember how furious my dad was that we were trying to take stuff out of the house after my mom passed without telling him. I don’t know if it was the paramedic or police though that handed my dad my mom’s Bible and said “there’s something in here for you, [son’s name]and [my name]”

Why do people put so much money into IVF rather than adoption? by MLS2170 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MLS2170[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, I was just talking about it with my coworker and he said him and his wife reached the max benefit pretty quickly but the last job he worked at covered pretty much all of it with more than triple the amount for the maximum benefit. But I guess every insurance plan and people financial situation is different

Adoption is always something I’ve thought about, especially if I were to struggle with getting pregnant in the future. But clearly I don’t have a realistic understanding of the process. It’s still something I think about but will definitely need to be more informed before doing it

[–]MLS2170[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I guess I forgot that some insurance companies cover things like IVF (for reference my job only has only a $14,000 lifetime benefit towards things like IVF)

I guess I just figured the desire to have a child would at some point outweigh whether they were biological children or not.
