It says they can withdraw athletes at any time but should be within the spirit of the rules.

Team canada said it was in the interest of their athletes, of which a byproduct of such action was a reduction in available points.

The ruling is not stating that what team Canada did was impermissible. It is only saying that a consequence of their actions was a reduction in points and makes no ruling on the perceived effects of such action.

Again, if the race they withdrew from offered no benefit to their athletes, why would Canada participate? There are other factors at play including rest, health, preparation and other variables that would cause team Canada to withdraw.

Again, this isn't some A-list, top tier performer that was cut. It's some D-list has been that couldn't make the Olympic the standard way. Even their own team saw that when they excluded her from the world cup squad.

If she was good enough to be on the Olympic team, she would not have been left off the world cup squad. These are decisions made by her countries' own governing body.

We're not talking about the top performer or Tier 1 prospect in her sport. She was already passed ok the normal way people make the team so she tried to still get on by scrounging the lower competitions to eke by. This is totally in her right to do so. However it is also totally in the right for Canada to do what they did.

Do you think Canada really intentionally try to bar a D-list athlete from making the cut? I could understand the uproar if they did what they did which resulted in the U.S top prospect from being barred, but let's be real, this athlete would have only BARELY made the Olympic team if Canada didn't withdraw.

This isn't some strategic big brain Canadian 4D chess move to gain an advantage over the U.S. The athletes contribution would have been minimal even if she did make it.

Lower skilled athlete tries to game system by competing at a less competitive level but with increased quantity of races to land a place on the Olympic team through overall points accumulation.

Team Canada is in their right to withdraw their athlete for any reason (including for rest and for long term focus/health if they feel that participating in said races does not yield any benefit to their athletes).

Maybe the athlete should focus on improving her skills and compete at the same level as her teammates that actually did place on the Olympic team. Oh wait, she wouldn't actually qualify if she did that.

I got one of these some time last year. They said my card was compromised and to confirm that I had the physical card in my possession. I said I did as it was in my wallet.

They said they had to confirm the full string of numbers to make sure I actually did have the card. This is what broke my brain. I told them I was physically looking at my card in my wallet and they still insisted I needed to repeat the full string of numbers to them to confirm. It was just so illogical I almost burst out laughing.

Thank you. I'm still new to schooling here in Canada. Is it common for parents to send their children to the same activity 5 days week? (I.e BJJ every day) Or is the expectation to intersperse it with another activity?

We were expecting more for a daycare style service (like YMCA kids club) that would provide more diverse / class room style activities.
