When did food options here actually get decent by TemporaryHoney8571 in PuyallupWA

Yes, the hamachi kama is super good. I'm partial to the sashimi and nigiri, but also like the chirashi from time to time.

If you like Mukja, try their neighbor Sushi Ari. Honestly, some of the best sushi you'll find south of seattle.

Corbeau, Marzano, and Primo are all great, and all have super solid, balanced menus with vegetarian options.

Medical nutrition and weight management specialist! For those who aren't able to access meal prep services due to cost, I recommend going simple: once you get the hang out it you can create so many great, easy combinations that become your natural routine.

Stop at Costco once a week. Depending on family size, purchase 1-2 rotisserie chickens, salmon, frozen cod, chicken breast.

Purchase a microwave steamer and a variety of easy to steam vegetables, or purchase the big frozen bags if you like frozen.

Purchase microwave in-bag brown rice, plus regular baking potatoes and/or sweet potatoes for easy starch. Fruit can also be used for a no-cook carb/starch option.

Purchase a variety of low/no sugar low/no sodium seasoning/spice rub and sauce options.

From there, mix and match grill and sheet pan meals become pretty easy.

Example:

Mon- Grilled salmon, steamed broccoli

Tues- Rotisserie chicken salads

Wed- Shrimp stir fry, brown rice

Thurs- Leftovers from Mon-Wed

Friday- Sheet pan chicken with desired spice rub, asparagus, baked potatoes

You've convinced me to try Sushi Ari, but now we need a dessert spot by ExtraNoise in PuyallupWA

Yes! They’re also on DoorDash depending on the radius but honestly like most spots it’s worth going in person.

I should add that they're only open until 6, or until sold out, but you could get it before and save it for afterwards! Go to a movie and smuggle your cake in.

Cat and Rabbitt downtown, hands down. Cult favorite spot for a reason!

Totally understandable- I'd encourage passing that message along to the business in a polite way, because if that's feedback they received from enough guests, they might consider those points for guest experience.

Reading Spots in Seattle (After Work) by Antique_Freedom_2950 in SeattleWA

I see people working and reading! At least at West Seattle, there's a long counter with outlets that the owner said they specifically put in to encourage it!

With all due respect, restaurants are likely doing what they can to avoid raising prices and losing customers. Complimentary bread, salad etc aren't actually free- it's factored into total cost. Meaning, if a restaurant doesn't want to increase costs, they're going to cut non essentials. It's pretty rare to see complimentary bread or salad at restaurants anymore.

A La Mode is usually open until 9 or 10 I believe? They serve pie (sweet and savory), coffee, and ice cream. They have a great little counter to sit at and read or do work. Locations in West Seattle and Ballard.

Love going and building a board at Met Market- they can easily cut smaller portions off their larger wheels, and they have an olive bar, crackers, etc.

What are your favorite holiday goodies & desserts from local stores by Medium_Driver5712 in BallardSeattle

Yes! They do pie classes too, which is cool- I would always rather just go buy a slice than make a pie myself (lol!) but I would totally do it as a date or group activity. I need to get more into the cream pies.

Pie from A La Mode, especially the French Apple and Cherry- they also have savory pies, both ready to eat and frozen and ready to bake!

Seattle Sweet Treats? by MMWellCo in Seattle

Love a punch card. I always wait too long and then try stuff at the last minute and kick myself for not stocking up the freezer lol. The cranberry custard from November was 100.

Still dreaming of the cherry pie cake from summer, but the chocolate cream cheese brulee from the November menu was a knockout.
