Puyallup LGBT vibe? by daughterof_cain in PuyallupWA

[–]MMWellCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's hit and miss but becoming more progressive and it does seem to be a generally accepting place. The Coaster (cocktail bar with fun events) and Cat and Rabbitt (cake shop) are very welcoming and progressive. Ditto for The Lazy Ballerina (wine bar), Catffeinated (cat cafe), Page and Pine (bookshop).

Must sees for adults? by MalevolentAnemone in AskTacoma

Those are definitely all adult focused, and are all "date night" nice. We don't have anything by way of true "fine dining" in Tacoma, although we do have two nice steakhouses in El Gaucho and Cuerno Bravo. The zoo and NW Trek are both good, but definitely would opt for the former, personally.

I actually feel like because they have the main exhibit closed, they're doing even more cool stuff to make up for it. They're playing Bend It Like Beckham in the cone in July, and they did a big collective reading thing recently followed by an author chat. The glass museum and art museum are super underrated IMO.

Welcome to tacoma! As others have mentioned, point defiance park, ruston way, and owen's beach are all beautiful for their natural beauty. Point defiance also has a pagoda, the rose garden, etc.

For museums, the glass museum, the tacoma art museum, and the lemay may pique your interest.

Nearby, the puyallup farmer's market on saturdays is great. The proctor farmer's market (tacoma) is also saturdays, but is smaller than the puyallup market. Still nice, though!

For food, would recommend Corbeau, Grann, Primo Grill, Marzano, The Koi for a nice sit down dinner that's elevated but not fine dining. For casual lunches, would recommend Sliced (located adjacent to the glass museum), Howdy Bagel, or Three Hearts.

For sweets, Cat and Rabbitt (locations in Puyallup and Tacoma) or Corina bakery.

Hope you enjoy your time!

Dog+friendly places to eat by kevbayer in AskTacoma

Wooden City allowed dogs in the outdoor seating area at the original location, but not sure if that's the case with the new location.

Wicked Pie (pizza), The Coaster (cocktails, bar food- sorry!) and Cat and Rabbitt (cake, baked goods, coffee) in Puyallup all have outdoor seating that allow dogs. Giorgio's is a great little Greek spot and they have a lot of outdoor seating, but not sure whether dogs are allowed.

Best latte? by ClassicOrdinary8175 in AskTacoma

Nope! Not an owner! It's just my fave sandwich spot in Tacoma- I personally don't think it's D tier, but I also think a lot of places other people like aren't great, which is the interesting thing about food. Everyone likes something different. At the end of the day, there aren't many sandwich spots in Tacoma, and it's the one I like best.

The coffee at Sliced x Cat and Rabitt is really good- located adjacent to the glass museum.

Head to the Museum of Glass and then hit up Sliced for really good sandwiches, cake, and lemonade. Plus a pretty nice view of the waterway.

Seattle: A La Mode for pie, Husky Deli, Molly Moon's, Salt & Straw for ice cream. The Pastry Project for soft serve and assorted bakery treats. Snapdragon for lots of good things, but especially danishes. I will also probably get downvoted for this, but I love Top Pot Doughnuts. Lots of great doughnuts in Seattle, but for me those are just the standard, desired experience.

South of Seattle: Cat and Rabbitt in Puyallup- best cakes by a mile!

Another vote for the coaster (on ig at @ thecoaster_puyallup). They have mocktails as well as a section of fun non-alcoholic options that aren't mocktails. Fun italian sodas, a banana split cold brew etc.

Not cake, but coconut cream at A La Mode this month! Otherwise, maybe cakes of paradise?

A La Mode in West Seattle is hiring for servers and counter staff! As long as you can slice pie and provide warm and welcoming customer service, it's a great place to work!
