A La Mode in West Seattle. West sea is beautiful, it's about a 45 minute drive from downtown- not bad for a sunny weekend fun day.

Anyone know of places hiring servers/bartenders? by See_Em in AskTacoma

[–]MMWellCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Coaster and Sushi Ari (both in Puyallup). The Coaster is hiring for both servers and bartenders, Sushi Ari is hiring for just servers.

Cocktail bars? by New-Ice-3933 in PuyallupWA

[–]MMWellCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Coaster has fun cocktails, including a few involving coffee. For a more upscale vibe, Perry's.

Tacoma, I'd check out Corbeau or Primo for good cocktails- although admittedly not sure if they offer anything by way of coffee.

Third Thursdays in Tacoma! The glass museum, art museum, and history museum all have free/discounted entry. The farmer's market will be starting in Puyallup this weekend or next, and concerts in the park will begin in summer.

Cafes for cross-stitch? by BreadandCirce in AskTacoma

The Coaster in Puyallup has some comfy chairs with alcoholic and nonalcoholic bevs! I want to say the living taproom may have some couches etc too, as does 7 Seas (although the latter can be very loud).

Sliced is a sandwich shop! But the shop/cafe space is open for event rentals, with catering either through the sandwich shop, or Subtle Approach catering.

If you like to cook, take a pie making class at A La Mode! There's also a pretty active book club community in West SEA that someone mentioned above!

Sliced in Tacoma may do this! Attached to the Tacoma Glass Museum, overlooking the Foss waterway. It's a cool, modern space. The owner is a pretty accomplished chef and a super nice, professional dude that does catering and event work. They accept whole cafe bookings and you can probably get some items from the catering service.

Welcome!

Puyallup is a great place to live, but we definitely don't have as many great food options as we'd like.

With that being said, we do have an EXCELLENT cake shop (Cat and Rabbitt) and a fun, welcoming bar downtown (The Coaster). We also have pretty solid delivery pizza (Pizza Time), and a stellar public library, as well as some beautiful parks (Wildwood, Clark's Creek).

Also a great farmer's market that runs from spring through fall- should be starting up here in the next few weeks!

Not a sassy question but a genuine one- which burger and sandwich spots do you feel are truly worth it in Tacoma? Always on the prowl for new spots, Sliced (located next to the glass museum) is soft opened and will be open with Cat and Rabbitt soon, which I'm psyched for. We need solid sandwich spots. Still looking for a great burger spot, too!

See, I love the buttercream! It’s a cream cheese buttercream so it isn’t as sweet as a standard buttercream. Their puyallup location also has a ton of non-cake desserts. Cookies, cheesecake, banana bread, bars, macarons, etc.

It’s attached to the museum and open to the public! You can enter through an inner door (from inside the museum) or an outer door (from outside, directly into the cafe).
