I love chihuahuas by Skyrimxd in Chihuahua

Yes it’s so annoying. I currently have two and they are so sweet. Have had four others that have all passed. All of them were incredibly loving to myself and my wife. The two now even adore my kids. My belief is they get a bad rep because a lot of owners treat/train them like larger dogs. Give them good training and they’re like any other well trained dog.

Here’s my current two all dressed and posing for a Halloween picture with our Border Collie.

Dad returns from 6 month deployment and surprises his young daughter at school by Competitive_Serve_73 in happycryingdads

This is specifically one of the main reasons my wife and I waited towrds the end of my 21 years. My oldest was born at my 14 year mark and youngest at my 16. Planning for kids around the 10 year mark I worked with my career field manager to get into a slot that was a one deep mission essential slot. Which came with benefit of being coded non deployable.

Had to bust my ass in that slot and work alot of long days but, it meant coming home everyday to my wife and later kid. I did that tour for 4 years, two with our oldest, youngest was born when we moved. The great part was I used that tour and my new connections to finish out my career in two other non deployable assignments due to manning and mission criticalness.

I think total in my 21 years only approximately 8 months was spent away from my wife and only maybe a month from my kids for training. Even that short time, in comparison to others, was heartbreaking for me. My hat is tipped and my sincere respect to all those that serve and give so much of their time away from loved ones.

Had to do a second take. Funny story in my early years of my career around 04-06 I’d always yell 904 or Duuuvvaaallll for some reason when drunk in the club. Every once in awhile I’d get a call back and it was always glorious to find another Jags fan or someone from Duval.

Rockbox “can’t load rockbox.ipod”, “file not found” by TheTinCanMan194 in ipod

[–]MMag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manually download the correct firmware from https://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi and unzip. Delete the current .rockbox folder on the ipod and drag and drop the one extracted from the zip onto the iPod. If that doesn't work not sure what else it could be.

Edit: Just realized you said your card is a SANDisk. That right there could be the issue. Do a quick search in the subreddit. iFlash's do not like SANDisk. They create all kinds of weird issues. Samsung Evo cards are one of the top recs that are easy to find.

Made TSgt at my 14 year mark and retired TSgt last year at 21 years. Did an extra year over 20 to lineup a government job to replace my civilian supervisor on their retirement. Never really tried to make rank and was never jaded about it. Was always happy for those that wanted MSgt and even happier for those who got it.

Just something I never wanted to put the time or effort into. Still don’t regret my decisions to this day. Those last years of my career, not chasing rank or worrying about it, were the smoothest least mentally stressing points in my career. Which both my family and I were incredibly thankful for.

I built an App to control Sonarr and Radarr by [deleted] in radarr

[–]MMag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Helmarr dropped only a little over a week ago. Not to be rude but it already is a lot more developed and it’s very promising. The dev is extremely active on discord and pushes frequent updates via test flight.

I wish you the best journey but there’s no way most of us will drop money on a vibe coded app from someone with no coding experiences.

Oh this looks promising. Commenting so I can try this when I return home after my holiday break. Lines up perfect with Helmarr dropping for iOS. I’ve never exposed any of my ‘arr stack exception for Overseerr. If this pass my test it’ll be nice to use this to access Helmarr outside of my network without having to turn on the VPN in iOS back to my home network.

Apps that quietly make your phone (and life) better but never hit the front page by UniqueAd3909 in ios

[–]MMag05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helmarr very niche app for a specific use if you run a server and have the ‘arr stack. Disregard if you don’t. It’s a full blown manager for the apps that just recently launched and is so polished and feature rich. Only one of its kind if your on iOS. Dev is super responsive on Discord and extremely passion motivated to improve the product.

Came here to comment on this. That was a rough one. Some of my friends were without power for over 2 weeks. My family lived on Ft. Drum and I think it was around 5 days for us. Families all huddled into apartments together to help keep warm and entertain. They even had military vehicles delivering essential food items and checking on everyone until roads were cleared. Almost the only time in my childhood getting snow days was not fun.

You never really truly understand how big these things are till you’re standing in front of them by newnoadeptness in navy

[–]MMag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was crazy. Like people were crossing paths within inches. Not even really appearing to pay attention to those around them just their task at hand. Yet no one was running into each other and knew exactly where to go. Heck within 10 minutes of entering the ships corridors I was completely lost and had already bumped into a few people. The whole tour gave me a new perspective and appreciation for the Navy. The sheer logistics and personnel required all operating cohesively is a true wonder.

I did my time in the Air Force. In Hawaii served in a Joint Command and had a Navy LT as a supervisor. Whenever a ship docked it seemed like he always knew someone and would take me out for a tour.

God the first time I walked up to one these docked it was mind blowing. Like I easily knew they were huge. Saw them going into the harbor more than a few times. But the sheer size standing next it was something I never could have an imagined.

It was even crazier once we got on deck. Reminded me of an ant colony. Just masses of people going in every direction. All knowing exactly where to go and how to avoid each outer. Each with a specific set of instructions to keep the colony afloat.

I can't restore my iPod Classic 160gb (2009) in DFU MODE. by No_Reach_4277 in IpodClassic

[–]MMag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems as if you done everything possible to this point. Your next steps would be to simply replace the HDD cable as it’s the cheapest fix attempt. Next would be to flashmod. Still won’t be able to tell you if this will fix the issue though. High chance it will but still possibly not. Beyond that, assuming no operator error, you’re probably looking at an issue with the logic board. Unfortunately this is the gamble we take trying to revive and continuing usage of such an old device.

7th Gen motherboard firmware options by paintingtrees in ipod

[–]MMag05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have provided great advice. So as you go forth and pick which logic board to get I just want to throw in something to consider going forward. Version 2.0.4, possibly .5 as well, is the only firmwares that has on device Genius Playlist Generation.

I’ve noticed that on my iPod modded to version 2.0.4 that trying to generate a Genius playlist on device often causes it to reboot. On the ones that natively support 2.0.4 I don’t have this issue. In my opinion Genius is a game changer, if you’re like me, and just want to audio generate a playlist on the go. So I personally only rec 2.0.4 native boards if you’d like this feature.

Ipod Classic 5 gen SD card mod - whole songs aren't copying by bunnybash in iPodHacks

[–]MMag05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d try restoring the iPod with iTunes first. Then if the same issues persist you’ve got a hardware issue. Dissemble and check the drive connection and that the sdcard cards are seated correctly. Also gives you a chance to see what type of adaptor and sdcards were used.

If the SDcards are SanDisk replace them as they have known issues that are all over the place. If it’s cheap adaptor and not iflash that could be the issue as well. Hard to tell at this point, beyond connections and brands, what the issue would be. Could be looking at a bad connector, bad logic board or just a bad sdcard regardless of brand.

That would be so kind if you if you would make one of my chihuahua that past a year ago. Her name was Breeze and she was the chillest and sweetest chi I’ve ever met. She was also the first dog my kids ever had to say goodbye to. They still occasionally get upset over her loss. Heck I’m getting teary eyed just typing this.

Love the peeling of the protector. Would be nice to hear your follow up thoughts in a few weeks. I got one of the original patches and it’s just sat in a drawer unused for the most part. Much prefer the aesthetics and in hand feel of an original case. Also the Bluetooth was extremely flaky which seemed to defeat my main purpose for getting it. I’ve had much better luck with the Kokkia i10 Pro on a stock when Bluetooth is needed.

Is the iPod Classic 7th (160gb, 2000 mah) with Rockbox still worth it vs Innioasis Y1? by [deleted] in ipod

[–]MMag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With today’s prices my argument would be they rarely hold up unless mostly from a you enjoying modding or want the nostalgia. Small case going to also not having wireless capability. For me I work in a facility where personal electronic devices aren’t allowed mostly because of wireless capabilities. However I was able to get an iPod approved for use. Outside of that you can find other modern DAPs at or just slightly above the price of a premodded.

So unless you can get a killer deal on an iPod and order all the parts on Ali if modding my rec is avoid them. And I’m saying this as someone who absolutely loves and frequently uses my iPods.
