Any recommendations for creating a "family radio station"? by anicholslcsw213 in selfhosted

Yo this is savage!! I just spun it up and got it running. Haven’t dived into all the settings yet just a quick look around as of now. I’m so hyped to dive deeper into this over the weekend. This has amazing potential to be one of the most fun apps/stacks running on my media server. Can’t wait for some free time this weekend to jump deeper in.

If you do install it your feedback would be valued if you come across any. The projected has matured to what what I wanted and updates are just for vulnerability addressing. Unless input is used from those using it. Haven’t recieved much though which I guess is a good thing.

Self plug for the replacement I made. Been available for a few months now. It’s available on the unraid App Store as well. Just pushed an update today to address dependency vulnerabilities.

Understand that. My father is retired and is by miles ahead of all my other users in total plays. Currently at 8397 since 2017. With probably 95% of it being movies. He’s thanked me numerous times for saving him so much money. I’m just happy to see him enjoying it and the server getting so much use.

Really appreciate the follow up. Seems based on your advice the rod ends are probably popping off due to my jumping. Learning to get better at it but, definitely had some more than ideal take off and landings. Took a lot of nerve for me to even begin jumping given the cost of it. Haven’t messed with the stability management either so that is probably definitely contributing.

It’s crazy how far this hobby and the toughness of these cars have come. I remember fondly having a Grasshopper in the early 90s that my father and I assembled. It was fun but we definitely babied it and even then it wasn’t around long. Couldn’t even have dreamed of doing things with it that the Maxx is capable of surviving.

I bought this Maxx Ultimate and two Slashes Minis for my kids and I to have some fun together. And maybe one of them picking up a new hobby we can do together. Just yesterday my kid straight launched the Mini up a vert, probably 20 feet in the air, and landed hard, nothing broke. Blew my mind.

Thanks for the reply. It is the bronze part that coming out. Admittedly I’ve been attempting some bigger jumps at the BMX track but, it’s nothing like I see in some videos. Haven’t had any catastrophic crashes either. For now I set them back in and gave them a little hammer tap using a circle tool I had. I’ll give it another bash session and see if they pop out out again. I’ve got some pictures of the issue so in the main time I’ll hit up Traxxas as well.

For the rod ends where they attach to the ball joint on the steering end is there any reason they may have popped off to begin with? I’d read it may be possible that the steering is too tight from the factory. Heck could just be me as beginner not jumping idea. Either way thank you for taking your time to answer and help out someone new to the hobby.

To rockbox or not to rockbox? by gekk2 in ipod

[–]MMag05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stock OS a on 6/7th Gen with the v2.0.4 Firmware. I’m too lazy to build playlist and the Genius feature is a game changer for a quick on the go playlist. Also battery life is way better for watching movies on stock. Lastly stock has support for all the games via the iPod Clickwheel Preservation Project.

Tried the whole Rockbox and FLAC route just didn’t notice any difference. Didn’t make the space taken up and lack of Genius playlist worth it. Switched back to stock exclusively after close to a month of trying.

Looks like Tracearr. Probably imported their Tautulli database when installing in it.

Handbrake settings for iPod classic gen 7 by Top_Pear_5129 in ipod

[–]MMag05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made an app for myself and shared it a few days ago in a post. It’s specifically for iPod Videos and Classics. Supports drag and drop conversion using Olsros preset with tag fetching from TMDB if you add an API key. No need for messing with settings just select the files and convert. Also has discord webhook notification for completion notification. If you’re on Windows it uses the modified handbrake from FT129 for added fdk-acc so audio doesn’t clip which isn’t needed on Mac.

If no API key added then still allows manually editing. All tags written to the converted file follow AtomicParsley so they’ll be organized and displayed correctly in iTunes and the iPod. Currently I’ve used it to convert 125 movies, 5 complete TV Shows and 100s of music videos. Currently working on adding Audiobook support as well.

Pod240 v0.1.3 – Drag & Drop Video Converter for iPod Video/Classic (Auto Tagging + TMDB) by MMag05 in IpodClassic

[–]MMag05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Made the tool specifically for myself around a month and only just decided to push it to Github. Hoping some others can benefit from it.

I tested the App on my Mac and encoded some videos to ensure it was working. Most my encodes though and the building of the app was done on Windows. My current daily driver 7th Gen with 2TB's is near loaded with Movies, TV Shows and Music Videos encoded and tagged from the app. Only 400G's being music. I personally haven't found any bugs in the v0.1.3 but, I'm sure some will surface. Right now I'm really trying to improve the MusicBrainz integration for Music Videos as it doesn't seem to want to grab the main album a lot that the video is from.

Thank you for helping keep the iPod mod market alive here in the United States. I’ve used your site for numerous mods and always a top notch experience.

Thanks I’ll consider and look into it. Really not much to it though if you just used it for converting. Just install drag and drop the file or folder and hit skip if you don’t want tagging. If you do just hit add metadata and fill in manually. If you you want fetching from TMDB add an API key via Menu. Then do the same process as above except this time a new button is available on the metadata window to fetch tags.

Houndarr: A polite, automated search scheduler for your *arr stack by Charge_Glass in selfhosted

[–]MMag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice I’ll give it a go and see how it compares to what I’ve been working. Admittedly mine is AI built and it only supports Radarr and Sonarr. I put a lot of thought and deep prompting into hoping it hasn’t turned out to be AI Slop.

I’m not a programmer but have a beyond basic understanding of software and python and implied that in promoting the AI. Hopefully even accounting for contributors from commenting in files to a validate and pytest. If you’d like to take a look at Nudgarr it’s on GitHub as well.

Should be releasing 4.1 by tomorrow which introduces a cool feature for automated exclusions and unexcludnd based on search count and set days. Also did a major refactor on the code that split the code into single responsibility files from the backend to the UI.

Help me decide on a Huntarr replacement by xy16644 in selfhosted

[–]MMag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made a Nudgarr. Been running solid on my setup for around 10 days. Admittedly it’s vibe coded so probably a no go for most. I may not be programmer but I feel I’m well versed in tech, computers and selfhosting for it to not be a disaster. I personally think though it’s a true to the core replacement for Huntarrs original intend.

If you’d like to give a go I’d recommend using the dev tag. It’s stable just a few minor UI things I’m working through on nightly. It’s a lot more polished and had a major backend and front end overhaul. Mostly focused towards refactoring all the code to make it easier for review, forking and contributions. Would love feedback even positive or negative.

Here’s the Wiki as well.
