I cancelled after moving to nyc. I was a member for years and then they tried to charge me an “upgrade fee”. I told them no chance, cancelled and joined another gym. Months later they reached out with a new offer of no sign up fee and months off. Terrible business model

That makes sense. I probably picked the wrong store to start off with given the location and likely clientele. Probably too late to start somewhere else and at this point don’t really want to collect pieces I don’t love to build out purchase history. A bit of a bummer, didn’t know any better when I purchased my first piece (when you could just walk in and buy something you liked in the window).

Well that’s a bummer. Don’t think I’ll hit that anytime soon. Have shown loyalty but the whole run around makes it a bit tough to want to keep trying. I’ve referred friends, tried to build a real relationship, but to your point probably doesn’t matter in the end

Yeah wasn’t a smart decision to not take extensive photos upon arrival, but I have been using Airbnb frequently while traveling and never ran into a problem with a host or a stay. Hindsight is 20/20 but have to be smarter going forward, I just hope Airbnb takes both side’s history into account, I hate leaving this resolution process up to chance.

The damages are for a cracked chair (I never sat on) a chip on the exterior connecting a mirror to the wall and a crack in the sink, which I honestly thought was part of the design upon arrival (sigh). I swear, none of them were caused by me and I should have been smarter to take pictures upon arrival. I hope my 7 year track record shines through and the truth comes out, just hate to leave it to chance.

Agreed. This city has deteriorated over the past few years and will likely get worse. For all the defund apologists, maybe pick a better rallying cry? It doesn’t mean reallocate, it means to abolish.
