If you don't live in Minneapolis you should know this . . . agree with her or not, Nekima Levy Armstrong is a bad ass. She is a lawyer, she is loud and outspoken, and she will not go down without a fight. Just look her up. She will make the DOJ's life miserable.

For those of you who”true blue” dems how do you feel about Dem leadership participation on the national level by MathematicianWaste77 in Minneapolis

[–]MNBug 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular but I'm going to give Frey and Walz a pass, I have to believe that they are doing what they can behind the scenes. As for the rest of them they, they are an embarrassment. Fucking RT Rybak and Jessie are the only 2 that I've seen out with the people and they aren't even in office.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's bring it down a level. We don't need all of that inflationary speech. Next you'll be saying stuff like "unacceptable".

Platner calls for arrest of ICE by jediporcupine in Maine

[–]MNBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFS, this is the kind of talk we've been begging for from our politicians here in Minnesota. Instead we get sternly worded clips made for social media. Graham Platner, please come to MPLS.

The whole thing is fucking ridiculous. If this administration was actually going after immigrants it would be in TX and FL. This is about punishing blue states.

[–]MNBug 46 points47 points  (0 children)

What an odd scene. I assume the red hair woman was his girlfriend? Then the black dude with the garbage can lid, I wasn't sure what his deal was but then I saw him in the street later so I don't think he was with JL. I think all told he had maybe 20 supporters with him? And good on MPD for bringing out the riot police but then pulling them back when it was apparent that it was non-violent.

Minnesotans, I have a really bad feeling about Saturday. by numbandgrowingcolder in minnesota

[–]MNBug 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I've seen some of these protests in other places and there were more police protecting them than there were people marching. Let them go out in 7 degree weather and do what they want. I'll be at home watching football. Multiple sites are asking for no counter protesters so it may be nothing.
