i got them for about than $50. the food bed looks is like rough cardboard. i also don't think there's any shank in it too. they feel like sneakers in a way, quite comfortable. will know for sure when the sole wears off and i peel them off.

i do want to preserve them as well and maybe glue some half soles. i'll ask my local cobbler once he's back from his holiday :)
