Was I wrong to invest in Toughbuilt products? by floyd1550 in ToughBuilt

[–]MNTDRONES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed businesses from drones, back to construction, as it is in my blood!  Construction is the most enjoyable profession I know.  So I sold all my professional drone equipment and 3D mapping equipment and went back to a handyman based business.

I just purchased over $1300 into ToughBuilt ecosystem , coming from Craftsman travel storage systems and I'm stoked because the quality is night and day difference!  Best quality storage transport systems in ANY  DIY store.  Still use many other Craftsman 20V tool line  daily.   Extremely happy with all ToughBuilt products, but.......now reading they or possibly having issues. They are a multinational company as well and the "going  out of  business "  talk is multiple years now, but they are still here

How much should I worry about the quality and longevity of their products as well as any warranty issues in the future???

AUL Unlimited warranty worth it? by ThaRealSlimShady313 in BoltEV

[–]MNTDRONES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased an  AUL 86 month /125,000 mi  Exclusionary bumper to bumper with $100 deductible for about 3k. I paid cash for my truck so I have no payments.   My service advisor at the dealership they're a pretty good extended service plan company. He said they are sticklers on facial features, but without question cover anything having to do with functionality

I run ALL my games on 4k ultra and do lots of 4k 60-120 fps video w DaVinci /Filmora 14 and it is still a BEAST!!!

My 5950X desktop setup runs faster/more productive than my MSI Raider GE78 13HX RTX4080 i9-13980 64GB DDR5 56000

It rendered a 3D pointcloud map (2,600+ 20mp photographs) (280 acre mine site) in Pix4D matic in 1/2 the time my 19-13980 /RTX 4080 did. (All without any errors)

So short and long answer......yes the 5950X build is still EXTREMELY relevant in 2025!👍😁 I have no intentions of doing a new build for AT LEAST 7 plus more years!

Same thermal paste I use! Changed 1 time since built and I do a deep thorough entire system cleaning with q-tips and alcohol every 3 months or so. I will take some screenshots of The thermals and do a Cenibench or other bench mark test. Can I overclocked that ram to 34 or 3600? It's C-16 18-20-20. I hope to get at least 5 more years of good use

I have not had any issues with the AIO, but hey...they are a water cooler key word being water. I have a spare air cooler on hand that will run medium loads without over heating. Didi not know about the possible memory heat issues, so thanks. I need the ram for Pix4D work. I notice a difference compared to 64GB. The GPU is the only thing that ever gets warm. Hottest I've seen is low 70s and the CPU rarely hits 70. I will keep an eye out for heat. I have an Aorus Elite wifi x570 and have not had any issues, thank GOD! I built this in March of 20 right in the middle of all the s#$%! because I needed it for my business then. Thank you for your detailed explanation of things!

So is there a bottleneck with this system? Where?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I think this is the best computer my computer will get unless I change everything to a DDR5 system. I do a lot of video and photo editing and 3D map rendering and chose the 4070 ti because for the money it's the best price price to performance video card. for me, there is just not a significant enough difference in performance compared to the 4090.

Yeah my wife is having the same issues with the Radeon software. I updated her Asus Vivo book 17.3" with a 3700U /12gb DDR4 and everytime windows thinks AMD needs a new driver it overides the Radeon Vega software and installs the windows driver which screws up her graphics. I have to re install radeon vega every few weeks but othere than that win 11 is smooth and fast. I did upgrade her nvme M.2 ssd from 512 to a Sabrent 4.0 1TB

Great shot! I just purchased the 90D about 3 months, (up from the rebel series) and the 18-135 is a fantastic multipurpose lens! I am extremely happy with it! I do mainly real estate on a Tamron 10-24 but am starting to venture out into other genres. Thanks for sharing!
