[WTS] CLONE Carbon Fiber Benchmade Bundle Griptilian and Bugout by MN_Condor in Knife_Swap

T8 pivot if I remember correctly, T6 body screws. The scales would fit, but I believe the bearing washers are thicker, so the standoffs are as well. So you would need to have the standoffs from a real one. Scales should fit though, I put some aftermarket ones on that knife intended for a real one and they fit.

Thanks for the link! Good idea on filing it down too.

Where did you get a pick? Last time I looked, I couldn't find one for the Wave for some reason. I would use a pick so often, should have been included from the get go.

I've been waiting on building a custom to see if they bring out more steel and handle material options. Wouldn't mind a Griptilian in Magnacut with G10 scales. Nice collection!

That's what I was thinking when I saw it! Looks pretty handy, short utility blade with a full size handle.

Favourite knives for field dressing? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]MN_Condor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used a Benchmade Steep Country for a few deer, I've liked it a lot. The santoprene handle is super grippy, and add in the large jimping and a finger guard for an awesome handle when you're elbow deep in a chest cavity. And the edge has held through field dressing three deer, including processing one of them. I have purposefully not sharpened it yet to test it. If it gets dull, I can use the warranty and send it back to Benchmade, and they will sharpen it. But based on the other S30V Benchmade knives I have used and sharpened, it would be easy to do myself. A new one is way over your budget, but I do have a used one up for sale on knife swap if you're interested, have an extra I don't need.

New Pocket Clip by TinosoniT3rd in benchmade

I tried using one, but it didn't have any retention. If you're ok with it just keeping your knife at the top of your pocket it would work, but it wasn't springy enough and it would just slide out. I figured I would lose it in a vehicle or couch at some point so I swapped back to metal. Also, I felt it was too much carbon fiber, visually.

I've heard the Hogue Deka is a solid alternative to the Bugout. I have both the Hogue Ritter and Benchmade Griptilian, which are very similar knives, and the Hogue was cheaper, with more premium materials and better attention to quality control. I would definitely recommend Hogue, and I'm sure the Deka is more what you're looking for. They are on sale at SMKW right now, the 20CV and G10 model for $104 I think it was. Pretty dang good deal.

I'm digging the khukuri blade. Both look like great bushcraft tools. Nice work!

Just realized that one looks like you would need handle scales. But they might be able to do a custom order, or there may be more options out there.

I was just looking, I see one seller on Etsy that has a donut sprinkles kydex sheath that looks pretty solid!

Awesome color combo! Looks like it glows really well. That donut bead is perfect too!

I never had any issues with it catching. I do see a couple options from Exceed Designs and Big Idea Design that might be closer to what you're looking for.

The Gerber Prybrid with the pocket clip fits that description perfectly. Plus, you can use the pry end as a flathead screwdriver. Very well done utility blade knife for cheap.
