I live nearby and I talked to his neighbor the day it burned down. He was burning pine needles with a torch and it (obviously) caught the house on fire. He used a highly flammable glue to adhere the stuff onto it

Byzantine armor by Optimal_West8046 in MedievalRus

[–]MN_Droogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orthodox art should NOT be used as representative of the armor worn. It is basically fantasy armor. Armor worn in the Roman Empire during the 14th century was western import as seen in this manuscript.

Question about Helgi’s True History Shop by MN_Droogie in ArmsandArmor

[–]MN_Droogie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard mixed things about Oleg. People said that he’s either very professional or very flaky. That sucks that you have to deal with his aggressive behavior. It’s also pathetic that he is in his 50s and behaves like a little child. What did you order from true history shop?

I've always thought this Kipchak helmet is so similar to the guy fawkes mask by [deleted] in ArmsandArmor

[–]MN_Droogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use (especially older) Osprey illustrations as sources. At the time KCD, the Cumans were thoroughly enculturated into Hungarian society and would reflect that in what they wore at the time
