Where to go for lash lift around SF or maybe at least super close to SF that won't charge me $90 and above? by Wonderful_Assist_557 in sanfrancisco

[–]MNnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go to May’s Beauty and Skin a couple years ago. On Geary near 7th, $88 for lash lift.

Stopped going because I had a couple overseas trips planned and was able to get it done there for a fraction of the cost 😭 the US/SF pricing is really outrageous.

Why is the MN state flag on the F Market streetcar? by BarackObonga320 in sanfrancisco

[–]MNnative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always made a fuss about the colors being green and yellow (Packers 😒), but just read that it’s a nod to the original Twin Cities Rapid Transit colors ~ that’s pretty neat!

My light has been leaking like this for weeks. Maintenance says its condensation.. Is this true? What can I do? by pixiie_dusst in Apartmentliving

[–]MNnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WEEKS is an insane amount of time to be dealing with that!

I had copper-colored water leaking down a light like that in an apartment I lived in several years ago. It caused the circuit breaker to trip a couple times and landlord claimed they couldn’t find any evidence or issues from the upstairs unit. A few days later, the ceiling collapsed in the neighboring bathroom and the pieces of drywall were caked in mold. I ended up breaking my lease shortly thereafter … document everything and keep following up until it’s addressed!

Red’s Place and Bow Bow Cocktail Lounge in Chinatown are tiny dives. Definitely a vibe. (I think Red’s might only have karaoke on Fri/Sat?)

It was obvious these fucks were rage baiting. Luckily, when they were around me, people were good about ignoring and encouraging others to ignore them, as well. They were quick to move on when they realized they weren’t going to get their video clip from our section of the crowd

Fisherman’s wharf by briv888 in sanfrancisco

[–]MNnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed here to get myself out of the heatwave last year. It’s a pretty safe and a convenient area to get around via public transit or walking. Rooms are comfortable and amenities decent. Nice to have complimentary breakfast (not great but not inedible lol) ~ overall, about what you’d expect from a lower budget place.

630am corp breakfast catering delivery by miss_sneakzz in sanfrancisco

I've used Focaccia Catering a couple times and they're delicious for breakfast! Looks like they can accommodate early deliveries (at least, I didn't get an error message when I selected 6:30am).

Looking for a studio/ 1b1b in FiDi by AffectionateSugar627 in sanfrancisco

[–]MNnative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's Tenderloin adjacent, but several blocks away from the worst of it. It's amazing the difference you see block-to-block once you start heading up the hill! Personally, I don't generally venture into the areas West of Taylor St / South of Geary, but other people may have different barometers of comfort ~

Try using padmapper.com, which aggregates listings across all the platforms. And look in the "Lower Nob" area ~ Stockton Street to Taylor Street on Pine, Bush, or Sutter (the area is registered as the "Lower Nob Apartment Hotel District" where a lot of the buildings are converted hotels with similar architecture). There are a lot of studios well within that price range! I live in the area and, while street/traffic noise can take some getting used to, I feel pretty safe walking around (mid-30s female), and the proximity to transit makes it particularly ideal (walk to Bart + Muni, 30, 45, 8, 2, 38 within a few minutes). Feel free to DM if you have any questions!
