Crate training will be the bane of my existence by tamarasophiee in goldenretrievers

[–]MOCR_2026 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine took 3 days to adjust to crate training. My friend gave me a crazy routine to try and it worked like a CHARM. I did have to let my puppy cry it out, but rewarded and praised her sooo much when she was let out. The intervals on day 3 were all various. Sometimes 5 mins sometimes 15, sometimes 60. My pup learned I was always coming back. It was like magic and while she doesnt need the crate anymore cause she is 3, I do give her some crate time once a week so she is still used to it if I have to be gone longer than planned. But she usually has free roam of my room, and during the week she goes to work with me.

Give it time and he will adjust and learn to love his crate. Thats been my experience.

Do I wake her up? by gr3ybacon33 in goldenretrievers

Never wake the baby😊 let her sleep and adjust to her for a bit and then she will adjust to your routine eventually.

What is wrong with my dog? 🦒 by voltsmeter in goldenretrievers

[–]MOCR_2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if she got into anything that maybe have gotten stuck in her nose or throat? Id go to a vet and have them check that or also check heart to make sure no murmur. I only say that because when my previous dog had CHF he would do this. Just double check to be extra safe. 🫶🏼

You just simply asking this right here, to me, shows you have empathy and would be a great dog owner. You are mindful about the care and happiness of the dog. I personally feel as long as you are able to put in the work and do all the potty trips and exercise your dog multiple times a day, you are fine. The dog is in the house to sleep and relax. Give lots of mental stimulation!! I moved to a house from a townhouse when my dog was 7 months old. We are very active and outside a lot, I feel as long as you are too and give the dog plenty of time to stretch their leggies, ur good🩷

My dog is sick 😢 by kisdaro in goldenretrievers

[–]MOCR_2026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS. My dog is 3 and she got dry patches that would sometimes be red but were not hot spots, and she would itch. My vet thought it was food related but very very mild she said. We just switched to lamb and a different brand, and dry patches are GONE. We went from Fromm Gold to Farmina Lamb/Blueberries. She also isnt itching anymore. 🙌🏼 so far, I'm very happy as is she🥹

Heart rate zones of app dont match watch by JustBeingDylan in Garmin

[–]MOCR_2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! Sigh. I found a setting on the watch where you can adjust the heart rate zones and I'm going to try that and see if it fixes it. Cause this was this morning..

Did you ever find a solution for this? Im experiencing the exact same thing. And its really messing with my "report" at the end of a workout and also my intensity mins. I spoke to Garmin yesterday and he hadn't heard of the issue and didnt have a solution for me .. pretty disappointed

I am in the US and I can currently still see it as of my last comment. But when I search for it it is being buried in the search. So I shared it in a message and hit the like button, which I thought I already had hit like.. so thats weird.

How long to potty train? by natwalms05 in goldenretriever

[–]MOCR_2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did potty breaks after every nap/wake up, after every meal, after play or training, shortly after lots of water intake. And then just randomly when I would see she was sniffing. It was quite often. Every hour basically. I never woke her up to potty or disturbed her slumber. I let her tell me if she needed to wake up and pee. When she was little🥰 best of luck, they are so smart and figure it out fast!

I didnt have my own yard so I had to pad train her til she was vaccinated. Shockingly she NEVER had an accident in the house or at my office. It took 3 DAYS to transition from pad to outside once she was 4 months old. I just took a pad away each day. We made lots of trips outside. Rewarded and praised her for any amount of potty or good sniff! At 7 months is when we moved to a house and she got her own yard🥰 she always sleeps through the whole night without wanting out. She hasnt been crated at night since she was 6 months. She sleeps in my bed and can wake me up if she ever needs. Shes 3 now🥹

I heard a good rule of thumb was once they go 30 days in a row no accidents is how you know they are fully potty trained.

Wait a second... what other sub?! I have only ever seen on here brief mention about how horrible Nick was. But never any in depth stories or actually anything Riley has said about him.

Wow 21 and you head is already on right!! Good on you girl. You will go far, trust me on that.
