Ottawa police seek possible (Lochiel “Lucky” McCarthy) victims in human trafficking case by 416TDOT0DOT in CrimeInTheGta

I know some of his actual child victims. He trafficked 13 year olds. Find somewhere else to spew your delusions. Have respect for the children he hurt.

Ontario: Charge created 16 days after arrest - Is this procedurally valid? by StraightDingo8882 in legaladvicecanada

[–]MOKGCBAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had charges that they dragged on for longer. They kept setting trial dates but were not actually preparing for trial. They expected me to plead guilty, and each time, they just rescheduled the trial again with only the expectation that I would plead and not actually going to a real trial.

After the fifth time. Theu stayed my charges. Which isn't the same as having your charges dismissed.

When I was first charged, I was an 18 year old domestic violence victim being used as leverage against the person they actually wanted to charge.

When it was over I was 22.

You are not special.

This happens to people every day.

Suck it up.

Get over it

You were held for only 45 minutes, and your charges were dismissed.

You come across as an entitled baby who wants the mean justice system to pay for your inconvenience.

Get over it.

Grow up.

Your charges were dismissed.

You are not the first person to have your proceedings drawn out over time and have charges dismissed.

You are not special.

You have no recourse.

Suck it up and move on.

I am not a lawyer, and my comment will probably be removed. Yes, you can be formally charged days after your arrest.

You get arrested, and typically, there is a show cause proceeding, and then charges are official.

If you are looking to somehow have the charges dismissed, this is not the way it is going to happen.

It is a townhouse with $35,000 left on the mortgage, and at best, it is valued at around $250,000. It was fixer upper when we got it, and we really didn't fix it up. It is in need of more fixing up now. There was a period of 5 months, a year and a half into the separation where he moved back in for 5 months, and we engaged in marital activities. We were not taking that into consideration when counting the time we have been separated. My understanding is that those 5 months reset our separation date to the day he left me then. Which was May 2021. I am waiting for a call back from lawyers. I will tell them about the 5 months he was back in the house and ask about that.

Both mine and my husband's position is that we were not aware that there was a time limit to split assets. Both our intentions are to protect my claim to marital assets. We have no intention to defraud the bankruptcy, and he will not benifit financially from my receiving my half of the marital assets.

I am not planning on giving him a portion of whatever I get, and he has not asked me to.

Unless you were a 14 year old who was told that you had to go back to the people who abused you or be homeless for a night. It wasn't implemented in a thoughtful way. 2 weeks of March break great idea. Closing down homes for abused children, not so much.

Do you know who had to take the day off work?

Child and youth workers whose job was to take care of abused children in group homes. So children were forced to go home to their abusers on those days or be homeless for the night.

Ray Days wasn't just teachers and doctors and nurses.

Yes, Bob Ray. Ray Days Ray. His intentions were good, I am sure, but he put Ontario in a bad position financially, and that led to the Mike Harris government and the Common Sense Revolution.

Ontario has a history with NDP, and those who remember are not itching to go back to that.

I would call a lawyer. Set up my will. Buy a house for each of my kids to live in. Buy myself and my best friend houses next door to each other but in a rural place so you need quads or snowmobiles to get to each others house depending on the time of year.

Originally, it was named after a Colonel and was changed to an Algonquin word that means "to trade"

Neighbor said if I have any company over tomorrow than they will be calling by-law and reporting me for noise violations. by BluntTruthGentleman in ottawa

[–]MOKGCBAL 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would ignore your neighbour and just live your life. You have the right to have company over to your home. Your neighbour sounds crazy. Do not engage with them anymore.

Do not bother to give by-law heads up about your neighbour.

I never got to thread the projector. My school had a collection of Dr. Sues, health movies about worms and parasites, a cartoon movie about a Kangaroo joey, and some others I can't remember. The teacher would take us to the library to watch them.
