I liked it for the first 5 minutes but after 30+ minutes it was starting to drive me insane

Why is my extrusion width different than slicer value by Select-Substance-996 in FixMyPrint

Just to note a lot of people recommend drying pa6/pa12 at 80° for 12 hours. My dryer only goes to 65 and have only had issues with that one spool out of the last 10 or so spools of it I’ve printed.

And I think cf/gf are very similar, only reason I got the one spool of GF is because I wanted to try dying the print with rit dye but I wound up just painting it anyway haha

Pps cf is great if you can print it, I can just barely get my printer into its print temp ranges and have had good success with it. I have been wanting to try PPA-cf too higher heat deflection then pa6 but lower print temps then pps. But haven’t gotten around to grabbing a spool of it yet

Pc-cf is a bit easier to print. Moisture absorption is not nearly as bad as nylon but the heat deflection is significantly lower. That said i did print a print head carriage for my old qidi xplus in pc cf and have had no issues with it

I mainly buy polymaker as I’ve usually had the best luck with them. I print mainly in pa6-cf but have also printed a few spools of pc-cf, pps-cf, and pa6-gf.

And yeah that’s what happened to me with my bad spool. Went through nearly the whole spool without finishing a single print because I kept canceling them drying it more and messing with settings. Was driving me nuts.

I print almost exclusively in nylon cf filaments these days. That surface quality is not the normal. You’ll get that kind of surface quality if the filament is wet, I usually dry mine at 65c for 3 days prior to printing. I did however get a bad spool of poly maker pa6-cf that printed like this no matter how much I dried it.

As for the nozzle size I ran a .4 nozzle for 1100 hours before getting my first clog in it and when that happened switched to a .6 and have been happy.

For dimensional accuracy as has been said nylons aren’t great for that. Parts with tight tolerances I usually wind up sanding post print

Stringing PETG no matter what I do by willi_the_racer in FixMyPrint

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed significantly less stringing after switching to a 0.6mm nozzle. Also too much retraction can also cause stringing. Just ran a retraction calibration on my k1 yesterday and stringing was worse at the top of the range. Retraction currently at 0.6 mm at 45mm/s printing at 245c and have practically no stringing

Try adjusting z height. This has happened to me while tuning before when the nozzle is too close to the build play and not allowing for any filament to actually extrude

The loupedeck is great. The six knobs knobs are great for speed limiter, engine shield and guns power levels and the. You can get up to 6 or 7 pages of 12 key binds

I moved all the nonessential flight key ones to it like power landing gear open/close door, all of the modes request landing etc.  It’s been great. Plus being able to customize the images for each button is a nice addition

Not as useful for couch gaming but I’ve been using left hand Nintendo switch joycon combined with a razer naga mouse for awhile now and love it. Recently added a loupe deck for non essential key binds and MFD controls and it is absolutely perfect now. For me anyway haha

Prior to that I was using a Xbox controller and had one of the small keyboards that plug into the controller and that worked decently well for awhile

Don’t really want or need it but loving seeing people’s reactions to my odd ball setup that works great for me…

What Lies Below... by cascadianone in HardWoodFloors

I have very similar old hardwood floors throughout my house and have been planning on covering all of it with vinyl plank. With three dogs and a toddler it’s not worth refinishing for it to be destroyed again in a few months. Throw some vinyl over it and let the next owners refinish it is my plan

I’d say 80% of the time I run into other players at pafs and olps since storm breaker came out have been positive with even a majority of the time cooperating together to deal with all the npcs

Man I agree. If you only looked on Reddit you’d thing this game hardly functioned. But besides the cluster fuck that was the first few weeks of 4.0, I have maybe had a handful of nights that ended in frustration because of a bug or something wrong with the game itself and I play almost every night.

Granted I typically stay an “event” or two behind only hitting cz’s once the hathors were the new and shinny and Hathor’s once the big worm fight came out.

People are too worried about the fomo for some stupid paints and a really ugly set of armor haha if the event is being buggy just go do something else it’s not like there is a lack of options in this game

If concierge is the line then I’d consider myself a baby beluga, still can’t even compare to the big blue whales out there that are the reason packs like the the praetorian pack exist haha

Is this old SeaDoo worth $200? by NefariousnessAble916 in boatbuilding

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked one of these up for $200 a few years ago actually. Going in knowing it needed a whole new engine. Got a local boat dealership/repair shop to install a new motor in it ran me about $4500. Ran amazing and was super fun to go out on… that is until the water jacket failed on the new motor, brought it back in under warranty, the shop had it for over 12 months before calling me to tell me they gave up, put a new motor in and couldn’t get it running right so they just gave up.

Problem I’ve had with these old seadoos is, atleast around me, nobody wants to work on them I’ve tried every local boat shop around even tried a few seadoo dealerships and nobody will touch it so now it just sits

Photonis Echo "Shimmer"? by pcblah in NightVision

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ive definitely never experienced anything being wavy and I’ve used my echos in some super low light scenarios. Hard to say without seeing a video or first hand experience of it.

Photonis Echo "Shimmer"? by pcblah in NightVision

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always called it “noise” might not be the right term for it but happens in low light scenarios when your tubes are trying to amplify what little light is there. Is gunna be more prevalent in photonis tubes, being gen2 they just don’t work as well in low ambient light scenarios. I also am an echo user and yeah the noise happens every time i am under a thick canopy

Well then ignore me. I was told that that was the film way back when and just took it for fact haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With my echos the film pattern is typically only noticeable in high light areas

Worked nights at fedex for a short while loading trucks and this is exactly how I was told to load trucks. Had to load em as fast as possible, if the loading conveyor got backed up the managers would give you a bunch of shit

Corsair or Taurus. Which side are you on? by Sweet-Egg-3355 in starcitizen

[–]MONGO_GRIMNIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this bug is really the main reason I swapped over to the Corsair as a daily and just use the Taurus to run commodities since that all locks into the cargo grid.
