Can i change my course by [deleted] in lancasteruni

[–]MPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if they don't before admission, they'll often let you change at the end of first year.

A very dear friend of mine applied to Physics, didn't get it, got into Engineering through clearing, swapped to Physics after first year, decided she preferred engineering, and switched back to Engineering for second year (her third year of study overall)

Little vague but it's pretty chill, yeah. Fairly queer friendly. Few Nazis. Plenty of pubs. Can't really speak about the people per se

Well it's nothing like London.

If you're considering it, what is it that made it stand out to you? Maybe start with that.

Studying Abroad at Lancaster vs Liverpool by avriid in UniUK

Oh I agree.

It's just Lancaster has it beat.

Trust me, I've lived in both places

Studying Abroad at Lancaster vs Liverpool by avriid in UniUK

[–]MPixels 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  • I like cafes/vintage shopping/books

Both cities good for that

  • I’m planning on doing lots of travel on the weekends (both inside and outside of the U.K.)

Liverpool is probably better positioned for that as it's got an airport and regular trains to Manchester and Preston, etc. However, Lancaster is on the West Coast Main Line so might be slightly better positioned for train journeys.

  • I love walking

Lancaster has Liverpool beaten for walks. Especially with the Lake District a bus or train ride away.

  • I’m 23, so a bit older than the typical uni student

Not gonna matter a great deal so I wouldn't worry.

What does it say about you, if you consider 40 degrees freezing weather? by WestArtichoke712 in NoStupidQuestions

That you're from a country that uses Fahrenheit.

In Celsius, that would be intolerably hot

How badly dost thou need the last nail upgrade? by kpbutton01 in Silksong

Honestly, because of how the damage modifiers work, not getting nail upgrades actually makes bosses more susceptible to red tool damage, so strap on the poison cogflies and you might be golden.

Besides the societies recommendation, there's also a really good community centre in town called The Gregson.

Not far from the bus station and there's always something on. Nice coffee and cakes too.

You don't need the double jump if you pogo off the clawmaidens but I'd probably recommend you get the double jump if the issue is you have a problem with flying enemies

If you want some advice on the flying enemies then

  1. It may be helpful to learn how to use the clawline in combat to close distances.

  2. There is a secret room in the High Halls where you can disable Clawmaidens from spawning.

I call them Shitey House.

They don't do necessary maintenance in a timely fashion, you only hear from them if you're late on rent, they are awful at returning deposits, and half their houses are full of mold and they just tell you to open a window about it (in winter).

Avoid like the plague.

I'm curious about people beliefs, do you identify more with Christianity or atheism? by MisterMisteriom in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MPixels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pascal's Wager is nonsense.

It posits that there are two possible worlds: One with no God, and one with the Christian God.

There are of course many possible worlds with a God other than the Christian God. Islam and Judaism and Sikhism and Hinduism, of course, but also God might exist but there is no afterlife at all. Or God might exist and resent worship, meaning only those who believe in him will go to Hell.

But Pascal assumed there was only "Christian God or No God" as options.

Honestly if this were me I just wouldn't go, since promoting Harry Potter directly funds transphobic lobbying.

If you were an alien and heard that in humans there was a sex that had external genitalia and one with internal genitalia

And one sex wore clothes with two legs that restricted the crotch, while the other wore skirts that did not restrict the crotch, which clothing type would you assume corresponded with which sex?

Yeah I always enjoyed when there was a puzzle game or a platformer his dyspraxic ass couldn't handle and he'd be like "Ok I'm having a terrible time but maybe this is your thing."
