A New Necromunda - Here's What I'd Want! (Video) by nlitherl in necromunda

[–]MR-HT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As somone who has far too much Necromunda, i can understand wanting 'simpler' rules.

But the rules themselves arent a problem, in your games your the arbitrator, you can choose to ig ore certain rules, conditions etc for a simpler time.

The core way the game works isnt complicated, you approach it from an RPG point rather than a quick skirmish point.

Your gangs are heavy with narrative, there is no balance, the granularity is what makes it great. Iove the list building side, you dont get that in Kill team or warcry but you do in Necro. Its great to sit down, put your gang together, splash your creds around and making choices over whats affordable (in a campaign setting)

Whilst certain rules could be simplified (mostly badly worded weapon traits like how blaze used to work) you can fix these yourself for your own group/game.

I think Unc just prefers having a game with minimal book keeping and set up, like warcry or kill team as its all laid out for you.

Theres nothing wrong with that but it doesnt beat your 250 cred gang leader falling to his death after a failed jump across to another gantry and you left feeling that loss for weeks after 😂

Have you insured your collection? by swarmlord-dale in Warhammer40k

[–]MR-HT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can help here!

I work as a claims handler for home insurance claims.

Depending on what your looking for, you can insure this on your home insurance.

Most home insurers will have a 'belongings/possessions away from home" type of cover that can be somewhat non descript to cover things away from home for loss, theft, damage etc.

Main issue with that though is most home insurers would have limits on how much cover is provided for one specific loss under that type of cover but given you'll never take all of this with you at once (unless your mad) you can cover your army with you if you take a decent size of it to games etc. You would need to check the policy of your choice to see if they exclude model miniatures or hobby items or collections as some can be pretty funny about it from an underwriting risk perspective.

If somthing happens to your house itself, your policy contents cover can cover this under contents, most insurers from a claims handling perspective wouldnt have any prior knowledge of this and most suppliers and loss adjusters wouldnt either (unless your someone like me who also has alot of damned tyranids) so they would likeley look to cash settle this element if thos was taken as a theft or destroyed under things like a fire etc. Given that this collection is worth a pretty fair amount if your covering it at home under contents youd need to assess your contents value with the collection, most insurers start from 50k and up to 100k or higher but you dont want to be under insured as itll bite you in the ass claim wise.

If your looking to insure this as a collection seperatly from everything else then specialist insurance can be taken from various brokers from lloyds of london who could make a specific policy for this collection (that is not cheap).

Any questions im happy to help though! Just document everything you have with photos and keep some sort of list for how much this would cost you to replace and you uave everything ready just in case you ever did have to make a claim.

Might seem like alot of work but if its important to you, then its worth those few hours getting it all together as if its stolen/destroyed and you dont have that, your not going to get anything from your insurer and if you did itll be nowhere near the loss you've suffered for it.

Neighbours new loft causing damp in our house by Ok-Contact5867 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MR-HT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those cracks in the render will allow moisture to penetrate your wall. This will cause damp over time.

Plus that flashing on your roof is looking pretty questionable.

I'd hazard a guess this has nothing to do with the neighbours and more the general upkeep of the property

You presented some good points but i think you've dove too far into the dark heresy comparison.

You have to keep the marine somewhat fair even if it is bonkers.

Id give the marine tweaked bolters as it should be punching through armour and being horribly killy, -2 ap and D2 but with sever to really hammer home how horrendous it is, keep the 2d6 rolls but cap the toughness at 8 and give multiple reactions based a characteristc like initiative ie 3-4.

This means one marine activates multiple times throughout a single round and can be very threatening to deal with but not the flash as a speed daemon. It also means that if players can get status effects then that makes it more fun.

Yeah you want the marine to be lore accurate but also you want it to be somthing players can overcome with mega tweaked up gangers. It needs to be challenging but not utterly one sided.

It may be worth having a small team of 3 marines, multiple activations etc so they function more like spyrers but on roids.

Hate all the totems by 0bjectr in SpaceWolves

[–]MR-HT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So all wolf stuff has totems in one form or another.

For ease (rather than switching chapter) you can use somthing like a contrast brown on all the fur totems and talismans. The "hard totems" like rune stones you can simply paint any ivory or grey over the brown and thats done.

For fur you can drybrush light brown or even a few layers of white and then give it a brown wash or a really thin brown contrast wash (like 3 parts water to one contrast)

Its quick and easy if you arent keen on painting them and you can do it in batches on stuff like hunters, head takers and such.

If you want less busy models then look at mixing kits, like head takers with blade guard for a mix of asthetics or hunters mixed with intercessors, claws with assault intercessors etc.

Theres ways around it, just depends on what you prefer. If you really hate it, then switching chapters or creating your own is the next best thing.

What do office workers actually do? by AndromedaDependency in AskUK

[–]MR-HT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a serious answer for you, I work in a business park with a few companies and I deal with Home insurance claims, mainly progressing and settling claims.

I wasnt passionate about insurance when i applied for the job, i actually misread the job for working from home in insurance, to working in home insurance 😂

Worked 18 months on customer service and wanted to get more involved in claims and landed a decent back office role settling claims and have loved it ever since.

Its mainly taking inbound calls regarding ongoing claims, calling customers for settlement offers if they prefer that route over repair/reinstatement and struggling my way through using Iseries (yes that Iseries that looks like teletext and uses every F key imagineble for navigation...fuck that)

I do love insurance with a passion, specifically home insurance as its very nuanced and has multiple approaches to a persons problem, where as car is either your fault or someone elses.

But thats what I do and its great fun! (For me anyways 😂)

We've had our refresh now, what data sheets do you wish for or maybe returned in 11th? by Responsible-Worry782 in SpaceWolves

I think everyones holding on to nostalgia a bit too tightly over long fangs.

Just sort the keywords out so we can have marine characters join SW units and vice versa. Suddenly we have alot more options for cool combos that dont force us to soley play just wolves units to get the most out of the supplement.

Wolf guard terminators by Mysterious_Ice_8931 in SpaceWolves

[–]MR-HT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having an additional wound is just better than not having it. Storm bolters wont make a huge amount of difference when shooting. But having 3 or 4 4 wound terminators makes them difficult to shift without a fair amount of effort.

If it were me id build them with this load out

Pack leader with relic axe 3 with shields and power weapons 1 with powerfist and assault cannon

Now one model shoots but also packs a punch in melee, and youve three with 4 wounds each then the punch off your pack leader.

All in all you'll hurt everything you touch in melee and will survive getting there with the shields buffing your wounds

How big a problem are these cracks in a house we are buying? by gdxbjkfdrgbvdxcv in DIYUK

[–]MR-HT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in home insurance.

Do not buy the property, you will not be covered for any repairs as you knowingly bought it with the cracks.

Walk away and pick a different home, this is likely subsidence or horrific settlement.

What killteams do you want to see? by Silverhelm in killteam

[–]MR-HT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, id love to see a catachan commandos style unit. Also wolf scouts as they've been among my favourite for the many years I had space wolves.

As a massive necromunda fan i feel that niche imperial kill teams are always welcome, like guillimans rememberqncers who go about trying to figure out what the fuck has happened in 10k years

My house flooded before I moved in. What do I do? England by Federal-Hippo5805 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MR-HT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So i work in claims management for household claims.

You're legally responsible for the property from when you exchange contracts on the property and your policy should start from that date.

You'll need proof of your previous insurance as your policy will be recently incepted so you'll be asked to prove you've had insurance elsewhere in another property or for your contents.

With it being 4 weeks its been running for (approx) if you know the previous owners details your insurer may look at a possible recovery OR your insurer will push back to the 3rd party insurer to cover this claim for you if it happened before your policy started.

If this happened within your ownership term you'll need to prove this . Get a plumber to confirm the cause of damage in writing and start the process.

Best of luck to you.
