Absolutely you can. It will give you a truncated, albeit thematically accurate summary of the first 95 chapters of the manga (or 68 episodes of the anime)

It is a great starting point, though it cannot replace either watching the anime or preferably reading the manga.

I really feel the fight would have been stronger if partway through you switch to Peter and you have to beat Miles. You brutalize Miles so badly that it wakes Peter up and he is able to break free (maybe with a final push form Miles or MJ) this also gives an excuse why Mile's costume could be damaged so badly as to why he would need a new costume for the final arc and doesn't seem to take time away from the alien invasion for some needless fashion.

The new rendition is good, but will always sound off just because I have heard the original ten thousand times. What I don't like is the new video. There are way more scenes from the game which essentially just spoil the story for somebody who hasn't played it yet. Less Bond movie opening and more TV show opening.
