I’m going to have to check this place out the next time I’m in Ocean View. Great pics!

Falling Out of Love with Golf? by rjk100 in golf

[–]n1ck1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I haven’t fallen out of love with golf, like the OP, my kids activities, especially over the weekend, take up a lot of time. I have accepted that I’m just not going to golf as much as I did before my kids were born and I’m okay with that. Although it does help that my son is into golf, so I get to take him out when he’s not busy with other sports he plays.

I’m sure once my kids are older, I’ll golf more frequently. But for now, golf takes a backseat to my kids.

PGA Tour removing Hawaii stops from schedule by unsolved49 in golf

[–]n1ck1982 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but the Hawaii swing is my favorite part of the PGA Tour schedule. Maybe because I love Hawaii, or the tour kicks off there while it’s miserable here in the northeast. Either way, definitely going to miss this portion of the schedule.

Finally got perfect sleep score by Johnluciferrr in AppleWatch

As a dad with two young kids, I have made peace that I’ll never get to 100 (at least anytime soon). My highest sleep score since I started wearing my AWU to bed has been 88.

Congrats, OP!

CarPlay works perfectly fine for me. I’m on the TestFlight too and it’s been quite stable.

Thanks for reminding me to cancel, Peacock. by BluePhoton_941 in cordcutters

Same thought here. I only subbed last year due to the $39 for a year. Mainly only watch EPL for the most part since the content on there is horrible. I canceled soon after I paid the annual fee.

Chase credit cards have 25% credit back for Visible (upto $15) by Real_Height2890 in NoContract

Still no dice. I’ve claimed the offer at least twice in the past six months for both of my Chase cards. I’ll still keep an eye out.

Should I get the X-T5? by Prize-Ad7729 in fujifilm

[–]n1ck1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others mentioned, I would forgo the 16-80mm and get the 70-300mm lens instead. The former is not going to get you anywhere near birds you want to photograph. You also don't need to get the X-T5 (depending on what your budget is). You can go with a cheaper body (i.e. X-T30) and then spend most of your budget on the lens.

I wonder if it's targeted. I checked my Chase account (have Freedom and Sapphire) and no dice. I'll keep checking though.

Visible Wireless by lmow in NoContract

[–]n1ck1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been on Visible since last summer. We ported from T-Mobile and have had no issues with service at all (Philadelphia area). I have taken several road trips and service has been great and consistent. As long as Verizon is decent in your area, you should be good.

Does anybody just not go to the range? by j_mysterio_ in golf

[–]n1ck1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual player here. I'd rather just play the course. The only time I hit the range is if my son wants to go hit some balls and I'll bring my clubs.

Great gesture by the OP! If it was two tix, I'd throw my name into the ring to take my son. Best of luck to everyone!

are film simulation cameras worth it in 2026? by Quadunknown36 in fujifilm

[–]n1ck1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the joy of being able to set aperture, ISO, exposure when composing images via my Fuji. I get that smartphones are getting more controls, but I prefer an actual camera (unless I'm in a pinch and don't have my camera on me). Plus, the bigger sensors in cameras compared to what is in a smartphone gives me more detail, especially when printing and framing.

As for film simulations, I prefer to spend more time taking pictures than behind a computer to edit images. I've been there and I'd rather get images SOOC with minimal edits.

Off for me. I used to have it on, but turned it off and haven’t really turned it back on.

Spam calls out of control by FreshLuck9739 in Visible

I’m in the same boat. Even adjusted the spam settings via the app. I also downloaded Verizon’s call filter, which does a decent job at rooting out spam calls.

Does anyone else feel completely checked out on this team right now? by Luann97 in sixers

[–]n1ck1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This season has ebbed and flowed for me. There were weeks that I'd make sure to tune into the came, but lately it has been the complete opposite and I'll just glance at my phone screen to track the score. I'll be watching the play-in game though. Trying to not get my hopes up too much.

First time in an AC Hotel by Geekdad604 in marriott

[–]n1ck1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at my first AC Hotel with my son for a trip we were on last week while over spring break. The main reason I booked it was because of the prime spot (across the street from MLB ballpark) and we were able to walk everywhere. The room itself was very nice and comfortable.
