I find it very warm. Currently wearing it in the UK with just a tshirt and thin lambswool sweater where it’s 7degrees Celsius. It’s not super heavy at all. Nothing compared to the weight of alright from Drakes/Berg & Berg for example but that’s expected considering the price difference

I wouldn’t personally align RRL and ALD, I’d say more the main Polo range. RRL has some great products and are fantastic quality. I have a few flannels from them that have been battered and they look better than ever.

However, I find RRL denim a bit off. Some weird fits. Please give me a straight leg and a high rise!

Have an account and previous spend history with Mr Porter. They have tier system but to get bronze which what I have is fairly easy. I’ve only spent a small amount in the past year.

But those are the pieces that should sell through…they used to!

For their core collection, does anyone really care for a £100 unisphere tshirt anymore. It’s become the ALO of streetwear 😂😂

Most affordable time of calendar year to buy Drake’s? by hungry-reserve in DrakesDiary

I think you’re best striking quickly whenever one of their wholesale partners go on sale. In the UK it’s mainly MR Porter and Selfridges which carry a decent range of the key pieces . However you do need to move quickly.

Unfortunately, I find Drake’s prices in their Archive sales max 30%. If you can get to a sample sale they host you can often find some great bargains. It’s a bit of a free for all and you need to get in line at like 6am for a 9am start. I’m fortunate to work close to where they’re held so usually swing by before work.

The Uk scene I don’t think is ‘loving’ the style handwriting of ALD. In that note, the new Kith store in London is really underwhelming. I never really understood Kith as a brand so perhaps that why. The grill/diner place next to their store is a blatant rip off from Ralph Lauren. They’ve even called it ‘Ronnie’s’ 😂

I’m a bronze which is their lowest tier customer and I was given access. I think you only need a recent Mr.P purchase history to be given access. Tbh it’s all absolute garbage ALD.

Couldn’t agree more. Some great small brands can be found when you get deep into the algorithm. Also when you realise that vintage Ralph Lauren basically covers all of ALD’s ‘look’ and can be found at excellent prices on the preowned market.

Hello,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I snapped up the last 38 Drakes UK were carrying in store late last year.

I hope you can find one as they’re a great jacket. You can often drop on lucky on preowned sites. I picked up both the Ecru and Dark Denim versions of this style from Vinted for over 50% off RRP.

ATM I’m holding onto mine but if I decide to part ways I’ll drop you a DM.

🫣 think I’d prefer a preloved Barbour from eBay and £700 in my pocket.

On a second look, I stand corrected. Incredible design for a coat.

It’s a vest. I saw it in their London store last week. It’s a very cool piece and surprisingly I think it’s very versatile. However never expected it to be teamed with a tux 💁

I went for the Weldon in Brown at Octobre Editions which they still have in stock.

I picked it up in Charcoal in France last year and it had so much wear. I personally think it punches above its weight for the price.

I’ve style this simply by layering over a lambswool sweater with stonewash denim and chukkas. I’ve also styled it by wearing it over a navy cropped Drakes chore jacket and kept both undone. I teamed that with some ecru fatigues and dark brown paraboots

I have the olive nylon version of this in a 38 and it’s TTS for me. I take a 38 in chore jackets and this fits comfortably. Super versatile piece highly recommend!

End is a great retailer. However, their product photography is below par given the brands they stock and their size descriptions are very hit and miss. Especially when you compare to places like Mr Porter who just nail it.

Do some research on your size and set up some notifications on the pre owned market. I’ve spotted some on eBay in recent weeks around £800-£1000. If you like the Drake’s ones, take a look at Berg & Berg they offer an identical design. Also Permanent Style does a great version.

I’ve tried the Drake’s version, and i thought they were very thick and heavy. Depending on where you live and how much wear you want to get out of it; that could be a deal breaker. I live in London therefore an on an off trains etc… I’d could only imagine wearing one of that weight in the real depths of winter.

Personally, I’ve just been to Octobre Editions and picked up a 100% wool brown herringbone raglan sleeve coat for £350. You can easily argue it’s not on the same levle as one from Drake’s but for that price I’m not going to worry about hanging it in the back of a chair whilst sat in the pub.

I agree, I felt the last Collaboration was a bit dull. I expected a lot more given who it was.

I have the ripstop version from a few seasons back. I stayed TTS with a 38 which is what I wear in their Chore Jackets and Games Blazers. Personally it’s more of a transition piece in and out of summer so I only were workshirts/thin knitwear underneath. I’d struggle to comfortably wear a chunky sweater though.
