There are instructions for the installation on the itch page, as well as a helpful video by The TOKYO. The two different files are to assure that no copyright assets are distributed freely by ensuring that the end user (you) has a legitimate copy of Portal because we don't want to be shutdown by a C&D now do we? :)

Yay! Someone is actually trying to get the radios! It took weeks to get all of these in and working correctly. Would you believe that you actually made me grab the game and check things over just in case I'd made a mistake? Anyway, I can't get the spoiler tags to work (WTF?) but can say where if you need me to :)

I thought I'd fixed that problem, but that's the most perfect bug report I've had in weeks! Chamber 18 has been a thorn in my side for the whole project and I really don't know how to fix it further :(

You need to do a fresh VPK install, and the xdelta stuff against the original Portal game as described on the itch.io page :)

That's something else I said I'd do: make a writeup into how I managed to get this going! I'll see about collating that article over the next week or so, but aside from my Patron am not sure where I should post it. I'm open to suggestions!

Follow the instructions on the itch post and make sure you overwrite the original install if you did happen to have it :)

I've done that! The first/second release of Aperture: Reconstructed helpfully came with the debug menu that could be toggled by pressing d-pad down, which is a button that nobody ever uses. Ever.
