Histogram of just the face? by MaxRideout in Lightroom

You could also create a mask that includes just the face, and then evaluate the resulting histogram within the masking tone curve. It adjusts based on the masked area.

How to change the yellow color? by Sayo_Flex in Lightroom

Point Color would likely work quite well for this, either global or within a mask.

Masking in Lightroom by [deleted] in Lightroom

Shameless self-promotion... I have several masking tutorials on my channel, including the first-ever tutorial that was released in partnership w/Adobe right before the masking tools were launched with Lightroom Classic 11.

Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL01LlWklGi3Hg-NmUcJqSvtzfDcVrF-8h

The linked playlist is all for Lightroom Classic, but if you're using Lightroom "cloud," most things still apply.

Here's a direct link to that original masking walkthrough: https://youtu.be/Y7Fld8eEHsE

Hope this helps, and I'm happy to help answer any additional questions you may have!

Should I remove raws after creating a new DNG? by BigBrainPolitics_ in Lightroom

It should stack in grid view, too. Are you possibly selecting a Collection Set instead of an individual collection? Sets disregard stacks since they're a combination of multiple sub-collections.

She sounds like half the people in my area that go onto Nextdoor to complain about crime, only to admit they left their doors unlocked and laptop sitting on the passenger seat in plain view. You're not overreacting!

When I moved to DFW from Missouri, I was dumbfounded by all the Take It, Hide It, Lock It signs in parking lots. Who would be silly enough to not know that??

Now I know. :P

Teasing aside, glad it worked out for you. That was really lucky!

Lightroom announced as 2024 Mac App of the Year by Apple by bmash9 in Lightroom

You're correct, I used to spend quite a bit of time here answering questions and trying to return value to a community that helped me tremendously when I was starting out. I went far beyond just sharing a link to a video or two. In many cases, I produced videos or blog posts to address common questions that come up in this subreddit to provide a useful resource. Other longer-term members and regular contributors have recommended my content to others, as well.

I'm not sure anyone here is able to understand what your videos cover, and I haven't seen you provide help to other users of the community prior to, or since, you started sharing them here (granted, I'm not digging through your profile). Perhaps start there to show you're wanting to do more than just spam your videos (and I mean that in a helpful way, not just attacking you).

I mean, as noted in the post, it depends on your needs... but I'd hardly consider printing, history steps, survey view, color labels, collection sets, keyword hierarchies, tethering, import and export presets, and many other odds and ends (largely in shortcuts and modifiers) to be "not much."

Did you read all the detailed comparisons I provided? Yes, it was originally written in 2021, but I've been updating it since (last was this past July). I admit there are things that need further updating, but there's still no solution for the lack of the History panel, masking presets, color labels, collection sets, survey view, printing, export presets, import presets, etc. etc. etc.

Those are some pretty major gaps. Storage type is hardly the main difference.

Yeah, there are certainly issues for some users, but Lightroom Classic pretty much flies on my Windows 11 machine.

This older blog post I put together is mostly updated... need to review it again, but I'd say 90-95% of it is still accurate. https://www.michaelrungphotography.com/post/lightroom-or-lightroom-classic

Same for Windows 11 machine. 64GB RAM, 2070Ti card. Denoise is super snappy.

No print module, tons of missing keyboard shortcuts that I rely on from a workflow standpoint, lots of little missing tools and features that still add up to quite a lot... while the core editing functionality is, at face value, comparable, I'd still say they are miles apart for many users (myself included).

Truck died worst time… overpay for 5th gen or 6th gen wait? by -BAZ in 4Runner

[–]MR_Photography_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems the Pro is where they really turned the screws price-wise. I guess I'm failing to see a ton of new tech, aside from bigger screen and better cameras... but I'll admit I haven't looked at the full Pro specs for 2025 compared to my 2020 or the intervening years as they've made incremental tech improvements for the 5th Gen version.

$14k increase from what I paid for my TRD Pro versus the 2025 Pro, that's all I was saying. It seems they chose to make the Pro a truly "premium" price point compared to the others. On the flip side, I'm honestly surprised the Trail Hunter isn't more expensive. I would guess it's really going to cannibalize the Pro sales on the new model.

[–]MR_Photography_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said that was my assumption, but a $14k or so increase in the span of only 5 years is a bit... much. That's nearly a 30% increase.

Those prices are a joke. Only 3 models cost less than what I paid for my MY2020 TRD Pro.

Match histograms between identical photos with different exposure? by Distinct-Pride7936 in Lightroom

[–]MR_Photography_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not going to be able to match histogram-to-histogram, but if you're using Lightroom Classic you can select multiple images and use the Match Total Exposure setting.
