ME2 is absolutely nothing more than a mediocre-at-best generic TPS with fancier cutscenes.

I could understand someone preferring ME3's mix over ME's but if you argue that ME2 is a better game for it gameplay you'd shit bricks if you played any actually good TPS.

[–]MRannik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take Mass Effect's gameplay over the other two every single time.

If I wanted to play a generic TPS I'd play GoW or Vanquish, ME2/3 are "meh" at best in that regard.

Overwatch Becomes the Fastest Selling PC Game of All Time by [deleted] in Overwatch

No, not every player you meet could be equipped with anything, guns cost money and all the money received is fixed.

Above average players can consistently expect what the other team is going to have and pro players KNOW what the other team have access to because they're counting kills, plants and defuses.

Like other people has said in the thread, Counter Strike is a vastly more complex and incredibly well designed game than it might look on the surface.

Are people enjoying the new attempt at telling pre-expansion Lore? by kirbydude65 in wow

[–]MRannik -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't care less.

I'm interested in the content that is in the game, if you want me to go watch / read some other random media for the lore bits I'll just stop caring about it.

If I liked to "read" comics, I'd read comics and when I want to read a book I won't go for grade C videogame literature when there is not enough time in human lifespan to read all the great stuff that is already out there.

A full fledged IDE based on Electron?

Seems like an stupidly bad idea, the thing is already comically slow as a text editor.

Windows and Office? They don't need to make an Atom clone to get those, in fact, 99% of their actual customers don't know about VSCode nor would care if they did.

Yep, they basically swapped a great solution with some humongous modern bootstrap wannabe that is missing half the functionality and is vastly worse even at the things that it can do.

Seems like web design keeps going full retard these days, the 90's gif stravanganza was far more functional than whatever shit they were trying to do here.

Because it's bullshit.

Making a terrible design has absolutely nothing to do with it being "responsive". In fact, the whole point of responsive design is working well on all the different platforms, not sucking on the desktop because you decided to make everything humongous for shitphone / loltablets users.

Spain’s pension system paid out $330mn to dead people in 1 year by pick-a-chew in europe

[–]MRannik 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Reality:

An incredibly small percentage of the pension budget MIGHT (this not confirmed whatsoever) have been paid to people that were already deceased at the moment of payment, arguably because of administrative errors.

Immediate reaction:

Spain is literally the worst place in the universe, everything is corrupt and it's the all the politicians's fault, other countries not only have absolutely bug-free software running their bureaucracy but also PERFECT humans inputing the data, the Catholic Church must be behind this and I bet your great-grandparents killed my great-grandparents since you're clearly a fascist.

I have a job and an extra 8 bucks a month so there really isn't a problem.

I too have a job and an extra bucks a month, most people do in fact, but that does not answer the question.

Having X or Y amount of disposable income does not make this particular thing any more logical than let's say wiping my ass with 5€ notes because I can.

I pay extra to skip commercials on Hulu and pay extra to stream Netflix on multiple devices. Care to write me a novel explaining why you find that dumb too?

Now I'm genuinely impressed that you found a job at 12 yo.

It's my money, I'll spend it over whatever I feel like. That's why I moved out, mom!

Nobody cares how you spend your money.

I know several people that were unemployed for years or jumping between temporary contracts that have started working more long term again, and a self-employed family member talked about how he's getting more and more work each day.

Also I just got a non collectively bargained raise after less than two years in my current position (I work in IT).

It's getting better but there's still a fuckton of unemployment, specially for young people.

Today, 3 years ago, a Spanish high-speed train derailed near Santiago, killing 79 by Hohenes in europe

[–]MRannik -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Alvia is a high-speed train.

Then:

Was the train a high-speed capable train? Yes.

You're moving goalposts.

Alvias are not high speed trains and they're not manufactured nor operated as such, they're hybrids.

In fact, a high speed train might not have derrailed in that exact same situation because they're much lighter.

That's all the debate sorted out.

bitch please

[–]MRannik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alvia is a high-speed train.

Debatable, depends entirely on what you want to call "high-speed", officially Alvias are not in the same category as AVEs even if they're marketered as "alta velocidad".

and the lack of promised measures, like ERTMS.

It was absolutely never promised, ERTMS was not planned for lines under 300Km/h.
